Thats what Ive been saying along with many others for awhile. I dislike the price and think its high compared to what they COULD charge and turn a profit. BUT what they should charge is VERY DEBATABLE and saying $43k is very biased/selfish in my eyes.

This thing even at $55k is a great value, but the name has its limits and it seems $50k loaded is it . . .

I don't agree. I don't think they can sell 3000 of these at what will be a $60K MSRP (very few dealers will be ordering base models for stock) without incentives or discounting but that's just my opinion.

Now, if they introduce the ZF trans next year along with some more base content and leave the base price @ $55K then they might have a better chance of getting them all sold at sticker.

Personally, I'll spend my $60K on a low mileage used Cayenne, IF I decide to part with my 2011 Overland, thank you very much.......

Yeah and 27 miles to the gallon...so not only is it cheaper, it will be waaaaaaaaaay cheaper all the way down the road and free scheduled service for 36k. 0-60 in 4.9 AWD for the winters...

I think Audi calls it "Truth in Engineering" not Bullshit in pricing

Jeep wake the **** up.

Well....Here's the thing... I got my 2009 SRT8 fully loaded for $48,500. that was with a $3K rebate. Now I was fully expecting to pay around $55K for the 2012 SRT8 fully loaded with all the new features, especially since the interior has been COMPLETELY upgraded (btw I love the adaptive cruise, proximity entry, ventilated seats, etc, etc). I think its worth the extra money im going to be paying.

Just got my build sheet with pricing (got my VIN today too YAHOO!!), and the MSRP is about $60,500. Which means if I can get it for a shade under $57K ill still be happy. I'm confident my dealer will take care of me and give me the best price possible, and ill take care of him by continuing to purchase new vehicles from them in the future. Least they can do is give me 1% below invoice, or close to.

I know its a lot of money and maybe not what we were expecting to pay but its only $2K more than I was realistically expecting to pay so Im in for sure still. I cant wait to be the only guy in town with one! With the amount of attention my 09 got, this will blow the shirts off everyone!

Maybe all of you that are canceling will change yur tune when you see one whip by you in person. For all we know, this Jeep could well be worth the extra $$. Im willing to find out!

+1 they are not going to sell them all at that price. I see heavy discounts to get them out the door

Can someone explain what FFP, EP, and FWP mean? It always confuses me.

FFP = Friends and Family = Affiliate pricing
EP = Employee pricing
FWP = Invoice

Good for you....I don't like the price either BUT, I would not hesitate to buy one at that price. For me it's still good value.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

Ordered my '06 site unseen in December '05 (well, I did see the 'concept' at the auto show). Paid ~$45k in March '06 and have been very pleasantly pleased with the results. 5+ years later and I can't see how this new one is $15k better while not performing quite as well in some areas.

A few ticks slower doesn't bother me so much (even if the Jeep goes from being the quickest SRT/8 to the slowest). My real questions are what's going to happen in 2 years with the new Trans/SC ones and why the heck is a '12 Overland is 50k in headflappers vs our $43k vs the SRT's being almost the same prices. Something is still odd, I'm on the fence.

I think they will. Every dealer would only have to sell about 1 to hit this number. I don't think it will be hard to come up with enough buyers willing to over pay for this vehicle. I agree it would be worth the price if it had the zf trans and the build quality and dealer service were there, but all these factors are not there at this point.
