Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

I cancelled my 2012 Jeep SRT8 order as well (yesterday). I'm saving $12K over the Jeep and getting a 2012 Challenger SRT8 (placed my order already). Maybe I'll pick up the Eaton when it becomes available via Mopar. Then I will run circles around your Jeeps [you die-hards who stuck with it]. j/k

It's funny, 10 minutes in the ChallengerTalk forums and it's clear everyone over there is upset about pricing too. It's not quite the same, but they are all nit-picking about this or that or some $900 doo-dad, or some feature which was changed, etc.. It's hilarious. I feel like I am so far above that after the torture I have already endured with this damn Jeep. I am so done with being nit-picky, I don't even care what I get at this point, as long as it is over soon.

Speaking of, Milous, can you confirm production/schedules on the Challenger SRT8s too? One of the guys said his is in J status meaning it's done and passed inspection, so I guess that means production has begun already for those??

Cirlces is right. Traction is an issue already with the 392 and Challenger.

Good luck in the snow with that beast too. And every time you park it with the 4' door swing. Can you say "Ding"

Just j/k Dogg. Good luck with your new Challenger.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

on 6/30/2011 i went to my local dealer to discuss ordering a 2012 srt8. he told this item is very much in demand and will not sell less than MSRP. that day i ordered a the deep cherry, luxury grp, srt high performance audio, Rear DVD. later i find out MSRP worked out to 60,800 plus tax and fees (final price out the door about 65K). i had went to the dealership to cancel the order the day pricing came out. dealer was happy to remove me from any and all obligations to the vehicle. later that day he had cancellations for the other 2 orders he had outstanding. since then he has reached out to me and expressed an interest in reducing price to invoice which he states is 58,000 and change. i think the dealers are a little worried about pricing as well.

I emailed my dealer when the "unofficial" high price came out in mid-July, and he wrote back "WOW, that's a huge jump from the 2010 model year!" The price gouge is shocking to everyone, including dealers.
