The funny part is how long you were trying to get me to tell you.

Looks like the Charger received a considerable price increase too....

2010: $38,180
2012: $46,660

http://www.motortrend.com/cars/2010/...476/index.html

I didn't know a Charger was that much - holy whale balls batman the same price as an S4??????. Does the Charger have Qauttro? 6 Speed manual? Was it tuned on the Nurburgring? Does it get 26 miles to the gallon? Jesus F wtf are they smoking?

I guess those folks that were caught drinking during the lunch hour are pricing these things now too...and sometimes building them when sober

Put down the beers, get to work and remember you cannot price your vehicles for more than better and far superior ones and make a profit...didn't we just go through this. Oh yeah I forgot, I (as a taxpayer) bailed you out of the mess via the federal govt- now you are returning the favor with over priced cars and SUV's. I get it now.

It is after all - America.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

Or a brand new 2011 Porsche Cayenne = MSRP is $48K base...

http://www.porsche.com/usa/models/cayenne/cayenne/

Slap a $10K fancy pants turbo pkg on there and it's basically the same thing, but it's a PORSCHE!!!

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM................ (I had NO idea Cayenne MSRP was that low still!)

I'm not paying $60k+ for a "Jeep." I'll go over to the Caddy dealer and buy a CTS-V at 0% on any amount I finance, plus GMS pricing if I am going to spend that much.
I agree it isn't what anyone was expecting, but the advancements over the previous version is extreme and commands the price in the segment. This one is truly reworked to provide the full track experience and electronic suspension. It won't sway my decision to buy it as the BMW and MB are thousands more. People that are changing to a better priced sports car, I only ask why purchase the SUV if it wasn't needed?

I am of course disappointed with this price many things are lacking like an 8 speed and LED tail lights that should be a given.

Now I just wish the folks that are canceling their orders would bump up the rest of the production so we could get them sooner.

You have to add about $3,000 if you want 8 speed automatic tiptronic, but yea I test drove one and like them. You can get a steering wheel that's heated with hand bolsters and paddle shifters for just another $250. I probably would have got the one I was waiting for if not for hearing about the Jeep SRT8 coming out and expecting it to be priced $7,000 or more less and the one that was in black on it's way over the ocean didn't have bi-xenon headlights so I told the salesman I was going to get the Jeep SRT8 instead. Guess now it's back as a consideration and I can order it any way I like. I might get a 2012 Jeep Overland (or Limited) though still. Just wish you could get a black interior with black wood trim in the Overland is all.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

Well, this is sad news for sure. I can certainly say (as other have already here) I will NOT be buying a $60K Jeep. No way, no how! What a shame really. I bought a new 2006 when they first came out and loved it. Great value. The 2012......huge ripoff IMO.

Oh well, guess I can wait a few years longer maybe and pickup a 3 yr old used model since the depreciation on these are gonna be HUGE!!!!

It really is sad, cause I love Jeeps overall (have purchased 3 new since 1997), but sh!t like this from Chrysler almost makes me want to bail on them completely (I also just bought a 2011 Grand Caravan R/T). Way to bail on your customer base. If Chrysler thinks the high rollers currently driving X5Ms and Porche are going to come flocking to their overpriced Jeep, they are going to lose out on that gamble.

Invoice pricing should be released if the MSRP is. I will be interested to see what it is.

It will happen. It has with the WKII overlands, so many BMW X5 owners and Porsche owners have seen the value in the WKII's. This is what Chrysler is banking on with the SRT8 WKII.

But you will hate how bland that base model is, our 2011 Cayenne S with every option available (and there was TONS) came out to $83,000

Right, but the Overlands are LESS than the outgoing model (06-10) and the SRT will be over $10K more. I don't think Chrysler is going to like how this ends. But time will tell.

Two things are for cetain:
1. Depreciation will be huge
2. As the years progress these will get big discounts as they will NOT sell like the previous gen

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

So far there has not been an official release from Chrysler in regards to pricing for the 2012 SRT models. I'm not sure where all of the other sources (Edmunds/Car & Driver etc.) are coming up with these numbers. The pricing for the Challenger and 300C seem to be accurate to what I was told of in advance, the prices for the Charger and Jeep seem way out of whack. Hopefully we can get this resolved soon.
