Slap a $10K fancy pants turbo pkg on there and it's basically the same thing, but it's a PORSCHE!!!

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM................ (I had NO idea Cayenne MSRP was that low still!)

good luck with that. Those $48K cayennes are ugly as shit. You spend more adding options and that turbo than a legit SRT Jeep.

Yeah I just closed all my Cayenne windows. I found a nice loaded Cayenne GTS used but it was still $60K. I priced out a new 2011 Cayenne base and did build my own. Immediately I saw you have to put about $15K in options into it just to get what the Jeep comes with standard!

just a yes or no will do so as to protect your hide:

Those where you work have heard about the pricing, and aware of our complete disbelief and unhappiness (particularly those with them on order)?

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

Ok, about the pricing. Before I knew about the price, I started to hint towards a price of 50K. Why? You CAN NOT get an SUV with that much techo advancement such as adaptive exhaust and adaptive shocks. Sorry, you can't. The Charger and other SRT8s can get away with a price tag of low 40s due to those cars being beans compared to the WK2 SRT8. With that being said, I still feel that Jeep shot themselves in the foot. 60K for a fully loaded Jeep in moving into (like someone else said above) CTS-V pricing. I do not think this Jeep is going to sale that well and this may very well put Jeep out of the SRT game. Just like the Ram SRT, its overprice and useless (in theory).

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

If I'm not mistaken, the entire SRT lineup for 2012 has the adaptive exhaust for MDS and also the adaptive suspension. It's just that the Jeep's will be selectable (vs. always on "auto"). That suspension is also ALREADY part of the SRT premium we are paying to get to these mid $40K prices in the first place.

So, sorry, but you're wrong!

why compare an SUV to a friggin CTS? LOL...makes no sense. Compare it to the Caddy suv......

If the price sticks....Jeep has made its own segment.....its still $60k cheaper than a Cayenne turbo and $30K cheaper than a loaded cayenne s with a 300 hp 3.6l. You cant get ANY other SUV with this performance and technology for $60K.

If you can find a nice low mileage GTS especially in the gray or silver GET IT those will hold their values very limited made and were made right basically you got all of what the Turbo S has plus a lower stance and throatier exhaust tone plus the wheels on it were sick.

Next time you go North on 35 hit me up your more than welcome to check out our Cayenne I love it.

It was a Blacked out GTS. Looked amazing. I think it was a 2009 and it was $60K at a dealership. I think it had 10K miles on it or something, so very seldom driven. But alas it is not as quick as this new WK2 and starting out was worth a LOT more. I agree about the resale value. It's just my wife and I were looking at the $40-$50K range, we only jokingly looked around $60K since that is what this is beginning to look like $54K + $6K for all the options..

Anyways, after watching the two vids Scott posted, I'm still sold on the Cherokee, I'd just like to walk out the door w/out my butthole hurting too much.

NJKen is a splendid one to behold
Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

My intuition is that all these sources that are providing prices will be/or have already received a test mule. The prices that everyone is complaining about is the price of the test mules as equipped.

It is amazing how so many "devoted SRT Fans" are jumping ship without seeing what the sales price is at time of delivery.

Relax people, the sky IS NOT falling
