There has been talk of a higher power special edition Jeep coming out in the future, a special edition model. If this comes to be, I can only guess that we would be looking at a base MSRP of $65-$70k. It looks like that for performance Jeeps, the "best bang for the buck" days are coming to an end. How sad.
That would approach would make one hell of a lot of sense. It seems like Jeep hit the middle ground, priced too high for the majority Jeep buyer and short on features/power to go head-to-head with the X5M and Cayenne turbo.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

Does anyone (Milous or anyone else) know if the Canadian pricing will also be announced at the same time as the US pricing (hopefully tomorrow as well)? I'd expect so because the Canadian order banks did open up a week before the American ones, don't know why, also I'd expect the pricing to be available to both the countries at the same time because they both have placed orders.

Any info on this?

Not sure on this, just checked and ordering for the WK2SRT is still closed for Canada.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

Hmm that's interesting, I along with about 20 others I've heard from on other forums placed their orders in the beginning of June here in Canada. I have my print out and my VOD from the dealership, placed my order with a refundable $1,000 deposit on June 1st.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

A question for the SRT division:

If the justification and reasons for the HUGE price increase on the Jeep SRT is based on the fact that the price is well BELOW that of the competition...

...then WHY was the price not reduced for the Challenger and Charger SRT models which are priced well ABOVE that of the competition? (Camaro/Mustang).

WK2 SRT8 ordering for Canada WAS opened up in early June, but was later turned off and remains tuned off.

Exactly what I was thinking, also, is the 300C SRT not geared at cars such as the MB 63's and M5's and also CTS-V? Why not that great of a price increase on that model, since it is geared at the elite sedans also? It is still priced $7,300 below the Jeep MSRP.

very good question, never thought about that. I think this is the #1 comeback, or reply, anyone should toss at a dealer or Chrysler/SRT rep if they try and play that card.

I don't think it's geared at them, because you would be throwing in the CTS-V as well. And the CTS-V has proven to outperform those cars, and thus would wipe the floor with the 300 SRT8 (I do think the 300 is beautiful though).

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

CTS-V was included in my post, and the CTS-V's record has been beaten by the up and coming 2012 M5. Beautiful car. None the less darnit jeep! on that msrp again. Lol.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

we arent gonna get the answer we want to hear concerning the base msrp. I doubt we get any answers we want to hear. Its a shame really....this vehicle is a homerun for Jeep over the last gen SRT Jeep. The interior is HOTTTT, the look is nasty mean and the performance is up there with the elite of the SUV's.
Is there any way to get their attention?

Oops, sorry, somehow I skimmed past it. I was already thinking it and must have missed reading it. I did hear about the 2012 M5, but isn't it a newer design? CTS-V is the same car since 2008 when it ran the Ring
