Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

Why would the imported customers all a sudden increase their prices by 10%? The US dollar has been weak for quite some time now, and they import market is still selling tons, for them this is better, Jeep prices higher, customers like us get turned off and possibly turn to them. Those companies weren't the ones with enormous bail outs and so on, Chrysler and so on were. Chrysler should be fixing their image first before anything.

I actually hope this is true as it will send a clear message to Chrysler (one which they would ignore if us enthusiasts were to have sent it)... Hmmmm.....

Well, I just want to re-iterate, I have seen all of the quotes and PRs and what not and I'm convinced that OFFICIALLY Chrysler has NOT released pricing (other than preliminary) to ANYONE. Therefore, I can only have faith that Chrysler is actually pricing this BELOW these terribly scary rumors, and this is all just a PLOY to get everyone talking about it, what's more, to get demand automatically generated if the pricing is suddenly officially well below the rumors... We'll see tomorrow (or the next day or Wednesday at the latest perhaps)...

Purely on an exchange rate basis mate..... it depends what you read of course (I'm in Oz), but general consensus seems to be that the USD will continue to fall, and that importers have held off price rises with the falling dollar but will be forced to raise prices if it continues to decline.

Having said all that the current crisis with the Euro, who knows what'll happen! lol

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

Soontobesrt - if your question about the other models going up is refering to the Laredo, Limited and Overland, then the answer is NO. The price on the WKII went DOWN compared to the outgoing model which makes this huge increase to the SRT highway robbery. How can the other trim levels go down in price with all of the upgrades and the SRT go astronomically higher?

Exactly what my dealer just told me as he said his price on the Canadian Overland I believe it was went down 2-3k, how the hell can Jeep justify a 10k increase on the SRT? Dealers words, not mine (although I do agree).

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

If they are only looking to sell 2000 units this price may work. If the price was close to an Overland the volume would also be which is way more than 2000 vehicles.

Jp467 - what are you talking about?

Do you realize that the previous gen SRT8 started at less than the previous gen Overland AND only 3000 units (approx) were produced each year?

I do not feel for anyone that orders anything without knowing the price 1st. In fact, in another thread, I already stated that this may happen

It would be messed up if Jeep prices those things to start off at 50K.....
If a base 4x4 WK Overland summit started off at 46K, how would anyone think that the SRT was going to be around that price? Lets face it, the only reason why everybody is up in arms about the price is because someone low balled their estimated price and made everyone gullible. Base price of 55K is not overpriced and SRT did not jack up the price just to be greedy. If you think that the SRT price is a ripoff, then you would also agree that the Overland and the Overland Summit is also a ripoff. However, I do think that SRT has failed you guys, but it wasn't because of the reasons that most on this site think.

IF they are limiting the numbers on the SRT (which may or may not happen) then you will not have any room to play with the numbers unless you have the employee discount. What you see is what you pay.

They would just discontinue the WK SRT before they adjust the price to what the market think is fair as far as pricing go. Just like the very short lived SRT4 and SRT10 Ram.

LOL, thats true. Right now this site is at stage 2. Don't think stage 5 is going to come anytime soon lol
