You mean 5 years of comparing a model of an old body style? With the old SRT that has nowhere near the technology that the new SRT has? With (like a poster has already stated) an interior that is just as luxurious as the overland? Its just not reasonable thinking to think that the new SRT would be less than the Overland. Period.

Less? Maybe not, but what you are failing to recognize Marcus is the fact that the SRT lacks features such as electronic air suspension, or a transfer case. Both high value items to manufacture.

The only thing I see in the SRT that is of high value over and above parts that would go into any other JGC, is the forged steel crankshaft.

Anything else (such as suede etc) is neither here nor there on a price difference to build.

Add a bit per vehicle for low volume developement costs sure, but I do see the price as a bit "rich".

Still, BLOODY cheap compared to what we'll have to pay over here so I all suggest you stop your bitching. lol

Huh? Like the SRT, the old Overland ALSO has nowhere near the technology that the new Overland has. The new Overland gets a luxurious interior and technology upgrades and goes down in price. The new SRT gets a luxurious interior and technology upgrades and goes way up in price. How do you explain that?

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

BTW, at the manufacturing level the difference in cost to build an Overland vs the SRT is negligible. In fact, the SRT more than likely costs LESS to build.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

Well hopefully this will be sorted out in a few hours, otherwise I may be one of those 100 ordered cancelled.

I don't think I could justify paying $63,000.00 for the vehicle. If I shell out that kind of cash, then I expect to be treated like royalty, which will not happen at any American brand car dealership.

Perfect! Thank you for posting this Milous. I have been trying to point this out to the zombies for several days now, but none of them seem to understand the obvious as you pointed out above. Perhaps coming from your lips they will get it, but I doubt it.
