Yes, but I have been considering an SRT8 Jeep for quite some time now. I loved the WK, but I could not afford it.

Well I am in a better financial situation now and I heard about the WK2 and I dropped a deposit down with the anticipated loaded price in the low 50s.

With the news Friday, I will have to cancel my order because it does not financial sense to buy a Jeep for the mid 60s loaded.

There are other options out there.

The SRT brand stood for kick ass performance at a reasonable price.

I guess they are trying to change their images to kick ass performance at a kick in the balls price.

Balls have hurt since they announced the base price on Friday!

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

So....... I have one on order and was expecting the MSRP to be around 50K base. Then add in all my options to bump it up to around 55-57K. If it ends up being 60K im still in. I mean who the eff cares, I want this Jeep and Im going to get it. I hope all you sissies cancel your orders so i can get mine faster. A 10K swing is a lotta dough but lets be real, if we werent ballers we wouldnt even think about buying this beats in the first place so pay a few extra bucks and stop whining. I love how everyone thinks they have an "opinion" on the new SRT8. All ive seen is complaints.... about the wheels, price, blah, blah, blah. Get over it, my life will be complete when this is in my garage! So PLEASE cancel your orders so I can get a first run Jeepy.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

How is that justified to call people "sissies", some simply can't afford to budget the extra 10k in. It makes sense, 10k is a lot of money and even people that can definitely afford it are double guessing it. If you feel that the price is fine for you that's great and I'm all for that, however, don't go calling people "sissies" degrading people simply on their own personal preference. People were expecting a 47k base before, with options to jump to 52k (roughly), now its a 55k base with a jump to 62k optioned out. Do the match it makes for a considerable difference in affordability for some.

And what do you want to bet they happen to find someone who totally agrees with them. Just like I am sure they had a focus group on the price of this and just happened to have all of the people who would agree with the price in it...compared to the entire internet including 2 Jeep forums where an overwhelming majority think it is ridiculous.

I'm sure this is the type of owner Jeep ISN'T looking for if this is how you really act. You sound like a 22yr old who's having most of it paid for by your parents. I don't care how old you are, but I know I don't put any relevance into posts like this.

That's OK. cyandeg is probably a low life that can barely make his payments on his house now. When he can't swing the payments on the 2012 SRT cause he needs to keep up with child support, I'll swing in and take it off his hands with a handsome depreciation hit, thank you.

Im just so sick of hearing people bitch and moan about everything regarding this new Jeep. $100 bucks says it comes in around $55K max. Now I get guff for sharing my "opinion"? Get off my sac. Whats the point of reading 33+ pages of thread to see all the crying... If you want it buy it, if not, dream about it, save your money, or buy a Prius...
