Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

Do you really think so many auto sites/mags have released false SRT8 MSRP (base) prices on the last two days.

The price listed is $55,295 in the US. Good luck with expecting a change.

They all copied the exact same document, wherever it may have originated. I cannot find any evidence of Chrysler releasing the information they used.

Well something has to change, the US vs Canada pricing is still out of whack. And as of right now Chrysler has not issued any press releases or documents pertaining to pricing, nor has pricing been released to their dealer network.

The only thing I see in the SRT that is of high value over and above parts that would go into any other JGC, is the forged steel crankshaft.

Anything else (such as suede etc) is neither here nor there on a price difference to build.

Add a bit per vehicle for low volume developement costs sure, but I do see the price as a bit "rich".

Still, BLOODY cheap compared to what we'll have to pay over here so I all suggest you stop your bitching. lol
What do you mean? It does have a transfer case. Along with an active suspension system.

The old WK Overland was already fully loaded while this current Overland ISN'T fully loaded. In other words, those that bought a 2010 or older model Overland did not have available options to choose from vs the current Overland.

Yea, I wonder why Jeep would just up and make normal, non high profile cars without a price tagged along with them. I wish someone would explain that one too me

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

I meant dual range transfer case Knightrider, and the electronic dampers of the SRT is a far cry of the height adjustable air suspension of the Overland.

I swear, I can LITERALLY KEEP COUNT of how many discrepencies I've witnessed with the new SRT family, most notably the Jeep. I have gone at lengths to get to the root of those and I think there can only be like 2 or 3 left, most notably the US MSRP pricing. Anyways, this comment above is one of those last few. As a Product Manager myself, I can attest that we go to GREAT lengths to research and price our products. I would never THINK TWICE about my product's pricing, and I am substantially more than the competition mind you. Anyways, this was one thing which I was messed up with where the Overland pricing had not scaled the same. Things make sense now (it was re: Overlands going for $49K I believe). Anyways, thanks for the info!

I just hope the last piece of the puzzle soon falls into place now...

There was no 2010 Overland (it was discontinued in 2010).

It's hard to compare between models due to all the differences. While the new Overland may have more options than the prior gen, it also dropped in price. Also during some model years the Jeep SRT was priced several thousand below the Overland.

I just can't wait now to see the final pricing, really am interested if that Canadian pricing is accurate, actually sounds good to me.
