SRT HIGH PERFORMANCE AUDIO $1990----wow
My favorite is:

Panoramic Roof => Luxury Pkg ($2995) + $1195 = $4190 just to get the roof, but it comes with a bunch of "freebies"!!

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

Did some math just for chits and giggles lol - im no finance major so its rough, don't criticize me haha

This is based on the #s that have been released so far but for the sake of rounding and ugly #'s price is estimated to the nearest hundreds of dollars w/ no options

As of now: 2012 SRT8 MSRP = $55,000 USD (not options for sake of simplicity)
2012 Production Predictions: 3000 units total

*So at this price and production IF THEY SELL ALL UNITS
55,000 x 3000 units = $165,000,000 in SRT8 revenues

At old MSRP ($43,000) with same production numbers assuming all sell
43,000 x 3000 units = $129,000,000 in SRT8 revenues

*From this we can see a difference in approximately $36,000,000 USD!

Now for some more math to see how many people would have to be "turned away" from purchasing due to higher price and how it would effect company financials

- $36,000,000/$55,000 (new price) = 654 units of sale

That means that IF 654 people decided not to buy because of the higher price, Jeep would STILL make the same amount of $ IF they sold ALL units at the old $43k MSRP price.

654 units / 3000 units = .218 or 22% roughly! So they could sell only 78% of the SRT8's at the new price and make the same as if they sold all at the low price, thats a good bit if you ask me

Can we get a list of 654+ people who have been turned away? If so maybe we can get them to come back down (pending we can find another 2,400+ people who will buy at $43,000! lol

the problem is they can still build them and sell at this large price, and once they see that a large number are sitting (and the public knows that the base price is $55K) they will just put out some nice incentives like 0% over 60 months and 2,000 customer cash, and the sheeps will say "wow, what a great deal", and we are no better off (cause they certainly would offer incentives at some point (they did in 06 when they first came out, and did even more as the years went by on the first gen).

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

Yep I agree with you, I wish that wasn't the case but it really is. Plus the differential is very large and I think its something they really want and think they can get. I cant see it coming down much if it all. They probably do like you said and toss some nice incentives on top, but employee pricing would be nice, doubt well ever see that on it!

0% 60 months is nice too but still, even with a low 2-3% APR you wont be paying 10k more on it. At most @ 3% on a $43k vehicle over 60mo you'll pay about $50 grand. This thing with 0% is STILL $5k more so yeah it just doesn't work out

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

From my point of view it was obvious that Chrysler was after a new public with the WK2. So I simply see it like they don't want us Hillbillies to buy their new luxury SUV. They are after a new kind of fish, trying to step up a notch. I think it's that simple, that Chrysler don't wanna sell to us no more. They want that wall street money!!

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

Still no official pricing announcement...

However, they did "tweak" the Standard options list this morning, I have posted the revised list here:

http://www.wk2jeeps.com/wk2_srt8.htm#12SRTSTD

The main change is that the 730N RHR was moved from the Harman audio package and is now Standard. This will probably result in the Harman package cost being reduced somewhat from the original $1995.
