Yeah for $55k something better could be had USED! But I dont of ANYTHING more capable and overall as excellent as the new SRT8 (pending it drives better and is as reliable as the first gen)
Sure $55k opens a bunch of new windows but I think the people who were "really" going to get one are "still" going to get one
I mean why would you shop for a performance SUV and then when price jumps $10k be looking at a car or an even nicer SUV? Like if you want an X5M I doubt you were ever considering an SRT8 lets be honest! I dont see this change as doing to much except to the people who were really squeezing themselves to get one. There I can see the disappointment, but Id bet MOST people (not all) who can afford a $50k car can afford a $60k, just my .02
The "price shock" has already worn off on me as Im seeing what really good value it still is. The $45k was just to good to be true. Although other models may be less (dont know why?? - maybe less overall capability) the Jeep is totally worth the $.
Read the official press release Scott posted, then think about $55k. I bet most of the JEEP GUYS and the SRT lovers will still be buying! This thing will do fine I think, time will change everything. Sad that Ive lost another $10k, but totally awesome that Im going to end up with one of those.
