Second; More and more I think my Dad & I's theory is correct, I don't think they have parts to produce these models or there is an issue that needs to be fixed before full-rate production. Once again, IMO folks, don't spread as fact.
I am OK with that (by "that" I mean the base price being communicated, not so pleased with the price itself but that has been well covered in this thread)...waiting for Chysler to add the data to their system so I can complete sales paperwork with the dealer (or retrieve my deposit). Rusty104 summed it up well when he said most guys just want to make a decision and get on with it (I may have paraphrased a bit). I ordered the SRT-8 over a month ago and am just ready to get the sales paperwork done. Don't really mind not being the first person to get one, just want to be done with the whole checking with my dealer to see if I have a good order and wating on pricing, etc.

I understand.

I can say, the longer this continues to drag out, the more I become complacent with what I own and what I don't need to buy or add to my garage. The longer this drags out the more I lose that excitement of what I thought it was going to be. I'm buying because "I want", not because "I need", and the fun is slowly being leaked like air out of my balloon.

Hahahahahaha! You make me feel kind of sad for you reading that. Want us to buy you a new balloon?

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

Exactly. At this point I've looked at alternatives and now that I just had the transmission rebuilt in my current car, I'm over the excitement of the new Jeep and just want to know either way. Course, I'm sure if the pricing comes back in the 40's, I'm sure some of that excitement will return

No, but thanks. I'll simply go to a different balloon company and have them fill it back up with "exciting air".

Completely agree.

Maybe I should head to the local Jeep dealer close to my office that has a 2010 GC SRT-8 with 7K miles for sale.

Nice marketting Jeep.
I think youre giving them way too much credit. The $55k was probably a float to see if they could get away with it.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

Well I tweeted Chrysler, ChryslerAutos, and Dodge about the price if we can get a price on the new jeep srt8 or just move on we need to decide. No responses, however, Chrysler, ChryslerAutos, Dodge, and driveSRT are all following me. Come on give us something.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

If the WK2 SRT8 pricing holds, it will be the single largest generation-to-generation price increase in Chrysler's history, both by percentage and dollar amount .

Hopefully that fact on its own makes them reconsider. They definitely did a great job with the vehicle, but the price is a little out of reach compared to the first gen.
