I wouldn't bet on that at this rate.

Not GT500's. Regular Mustangs can drive by me and I won't even notice them, but when a GT500 is up ahead or coming in the other direction I notice it in a second and check it out.

Green Levy 1000 (apparently they triple checked this and its not 4000 its 1000 on the 2012 srt8 - atleast here in BC)
Destination 1400
total
62,880 then 12% tax.

How does that compare to say a 2010 SRT8?

The price seems to be about 2k more than the 2010 base msrp. However, the 2010 had a 4000$ green levy and it appears that the 2012 srt8 has a 1000$ green levy only.

well, you do live in that there Kentucky country!!!

But actually, living/driving/working near both D.C./Baltimore/Philly I have only seen a handful of GT500's as well. In fact, I barely even see Z06's and CTS-Vs around. Hell, I see more Porsche's than I do those cars. M3 and M5, yes.

GT500's are kinda like the SRT pricing and production schedulings....nowhere to be found.

In all honesty, this is great news.
If you do a build and price on both websites of the overland summit
you get two answers
Canadian = $56,445.
USA = $49,970

There is no way that a Canadian MSRP base price of $54K can result in a 55,250 base price in the USA. NO WAY IN HELL.
By deductive reasoning, and simple mathematics the US price, based on the same 13% difference in price is =

Base 54995 (CN) x 13% discount = $47,845K....

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

I'm almost convinced now that the $55,250 number in all the reviews is the PRICE AS TESTED.

I was reading another new review today by an internet site and at the end it said exactly that. And if you look at the silver GCSRT8 they are all using, it has the adaptive cruise on it, so there is the Lux package. It has the pano roof on it, they talk about the 3 season tires, and also the stereo system. So my guess is that the Automotive News website who broke this crapstorm a week ago and everyone copied from, took that number mistakenly from one of the reviews they read early and took it as base MSRP. And it has spread like wildfire.

Yeah, I know Mike D's post in this thread, but with all do respect, I don't think Mike D is that up on the whole SRT line and pricing. Seems like he needs to talk to the higher ups in order to know what is going on. Not to mention, maybe the info he had was the Canadian price info, which he thought was the USA base info.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

If the price did end up being $43k or so base price I would be back into getting one with lux group, srt audio from harman kardon, and tow group if I could then negotiate $4500 or more off of MSRP at some point in the future. Otherwise I've already fully commited to getting an Overland in 2012.

That's exactly what I had been saying before but no one was paying attention. I read reviews saying as tested also and the 54,800 price or whatever it is was also as tested. Probably turn out to be similar.

I don't think anyone was discounting you, I think that there were only a few sources at the time and most were saying BASE: $55,295, thus why they did not believe it.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

I've never given up hope, but I've come REEEEEEEEEEEEALLY close!!

We're still not there yet though. No idea why CDN pricing is official but not US pricing. WTF?!? I think honestly WE ARE BEING PUNISHED for all of this hype and gossip and for Milous' leaks and what not. I bet we are...
