Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

You guys are getting so worked up over this pricing, when it is not official yet. I am sure that if Jeep see 50% of their orders cancel after the pricing is revealed officially, then they may reconsider. Remember if Jeep have allocated 2,000 units to production @$55k and have 2,000 firm orders they will keep the pricing.
It is all about supply and demand.

I think a $10k premium on top of the Overland price is good value, as you are getting a beast of a motor, bigger brakes and the rarity of a SRT. I expect it will be a $25k premium if and when we see them here.

I am glad you think it is a value. Would you like my dealers number so you can buy mine? PM me.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

That doesn't make sense as the CN pricing is the same. There is no other car out there that is the same price USD and CND. If that is the price I will be canceling mine as well, as this has been a stupid fiasco. Good thing mine hasn't gone to D1 yet since the dealer can cancel it all together if they want.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

Maybe its the start of a new trend taking the dollar values into consideration, that's the only explanation that I can possibly think of right now, from the looks of it the prices seem pretty set; and according to many sources from people on forums they are set, just not entered into the systems yet (referring to the American systems, the Canadian prices are already set and in the Canadian dealer systems).

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

Disappointment doesn't even begin to define my feelings right now.

For years I have thought this way about BMW and Mercedes yet they continue to come downmarket in an attempt to lure in a broader customer base. I respect them for that.

Jeep on the other hand thinks they can just gouge people to go upmarket. They're right BUT this is one person who sees right through that and realizes a gouge when he sees it.

I have yet to see it officially but it seems like they are foraging on with this $5K charade. Well Jeep, I'm calling your bluff. Don't bother calling mine, because I will take you up on that and go with your competition in less than a heartbeat. This is just total BS. I will get gouged by BMW or MB and I will gladly accept it because I know they will make it right with the 5-star service treatment which Jeep couldn't even begin to offer. I won't feel foolish driving down the street in a $55K Mercedes C63 AMG. I would in a Jeep though, and I know everyone will be laughing at me for paying this ridiculous premium.. I don't appreciate a manufacturer making me feel that way, sorry.

Sorry Jeep but you know I'm right...

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

Something isn't adding up. Milous the sheet you just posted has the Laredo starting at 26,995 when the 2011's start at $30,215....why are those $3,000 cheaper now?

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

I understand where all it comes from I was upset also thinking that the price would be hiked up for us Canadians, however, I got my price which I was happy with, and there should be anger here from American customers. However, they are offering literally the best in its class for the price still at 55k base, what other vehicle out there can touch it? The c63 a great car none the less, however, its rwd, and its a car, not going to have any of the extra space like the jeep, also won't get you no where in the snow as I have 2 friends with them at school and they literally get no where when it snows even a tiny bit. The CTS-V seems to be the same way, there isn't really anything out there for the price that is AWD, has great looks, and power (excluding the Wk1 SRT of course), that can be offered to match the price.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

^ If I am going to pay an "up market" price, I will buy the 2012 CLS 550 4matic. It will be faster than the Jeep, AWD and seat 4 comfortably. It will cost more than the Jeep initially, but I believe it will hold its value better (and might actually be cheaper to own over a 3-4yr period). MB offers a European Delivery (ED) pricing of 7% off and no destination charges and they even put you up in a hotel room.

How much is my 2009 with 22k miles worth now. $40k+?
