1). My SRT8 WK2 will be my fifth Jeep, it's at least $10,000 more then I had budgeted. Will Chrysler come up with a combination of affiliate pricing, loyalty discount and other incentives to close this gap?
2). I feel strongly that the designers/engineers took their eyes off the ball when they let the curb weight balloon to over 5000 lbs and then added only 50 HP. It's too late for launch, but could there be a retro package of tunes/mods (no blower) that could squeeze out another 30 HP? I like the sound of 500 HP.
The dealer I ordered from contacted his rep at my request and asked about affiliate pricing, his response to me is that the Grand Cherokee SRT-8 will not be included in the program at this time. My own opinion is that the 2012 model year will sell well due to it being new, I don't expect that there will be any incentives on the GC SRT8. If supply exceeds demand production volume can always be ramped down. Again, the last part is just my personal opinion.
