That is no indication how the SRT will look when released. That is simply just a WK2 with a lowered stance, 6.4 engine, bigger brembo brakes, and old SRT WK wheels. It is just a mule used to test with. Im sure the new SRT will have new wheels and other cosmetic changes possibly like a new hood, exhaust, grill, trim, and other tweaks.
I think the front shots are from a regular WK2 and they might be just testing out the engine ... regardless the old reps look small if u lower it then it'll look better
I know we are still at an early stage, so I hope they improve the front fascia, remove some (all...) of the chrome and bring back the dual center exhaust (although the setup on the pictures is not too bad). 22' wheels wouldn't hurt the looks, either...
But to be honest, I surprised myself at drooling all over my keyboard in front of the spyshots / illustrations of the next Durango. It looks a lot more agressive than the WK2, and based on the pictures that we have seen so far (i.e. not that many of them), right now I would clearly favor the Dodge over the Jeep. We'll see how they both evolve until they hit the dealerships... and I have a WK SRT8 to keep me busy while I wait...
I like the exhaust setup on this one but the center exhaust was just badass hope they still keep that ... All the chrome gotta go though and make the ride lower insert mesh grilles in front
Thanks for the link. I really hope some of the performance upgrades they are talking about are definitely in the works. Im sure the wheels will be different, I think they are using the old SRTs for the sake of a work mule, it looks like they gave a quick spray of paint (would be nice to see a choice between black wheels and chrome/polished though). I would have like to have seen a better looking intake manifold And Im sure some of the trim will be changed too (would also like to see the removal of chrome, maybe make the chrome a dealer option or body color a dealer option) . The exhaust looks fine but they should consider making a quad tipped square shaped exhaust (2 on each side) if they are ditching the center exhaust (make it unique somehow).
I'm disappointed in the look. The old SRTs looked mean, this one looks like crap. Deep down inside I kind of thought that Jeep couldn't pull off a aggressive look to the WK2 since the normal WK2s doesn't look aggressive at all, but I gave Jeep a chance. I guess I was right all along
The guy who represented the Jeep concept vehicles at the Adrian show said there is definitely a 2012 Jeep SRT8. The more questions I asked the more cloak and dagger he got...lol.
Brakes look good, engine needs some organization/cleaning up, body kit will help it a lot.
DAmn u can fit sum 26" under their no problem and lower it Hummmmmm intresting Why do all the new SUV and Trucks come out with such a big Wheel well???
The wheels/body are NEVER revealed until right before marketing/sales so this is obviously not it, spy shots or not. The breaks/motor give away the fact that an SRT8 will be made in 2012, it seems this is how they TEST parts, they hide it via exterior differences as well as they can but not everything can be hidden.
Anyone who gets upset or thinks this is anything near what they will see in the showroom come 2012, you are out of our mind imho I know Im buying one lol
