get real dude...I have no dollar figures. I DO KNOW for a fact...it costs my company 5x more to manufacturer the aluminum ingot using the Novelisfusion technology...so obviously that cost will be moved on to the customer. Making the SRT Jeep hood more expensive to manufacture. Also...doesnt the big brake 6 piston kit for the wk1 SRT cost like $6k or $8k for just the front calipers and rotors? Thats retail...whats wholesale? $4-$5k? The brembos from the first gen SRT's(same for gen 2 srt's except for the Jeep) can be bought from justforjeeps like like $350 or $400 for the front calipers. Whats wholesale? $200?

NOW...all of you "quantify your remarks" that they dont cost any more.

Only the bean counters at jeep can tell us the costs. You can't say these parts are crazy expensive, just as someone else can't say they are uber cheap.

I'll stick by comment that I don't see much value in a mid 13 second car for 60k. Is it the best performance for the buck in the fast SUV world? Seems like it. That still doesn't made it a good value.

Scott, some people will never get it...... don't waste anymore time with the trashers....

On a better note, how did it go with the dealer you found who possibly had a WK2 order for you?

Re: 2012 runs 13.81

It is not uncommon for parts to be marked up 10x or more. For example, a typical part that has an MSRP of $100 can cost Chrysler less than $10.00. Low volume expensive parts would have a lower x-times markup of course, but regardless the markup from factory cost to MSRP is HUGE.

no...youre right. But you can use a little common sense to come to a conclusion that some parts are more expensive. The Jeep SRT parts will be low production, high cost items. Thats just basic business. The same reason the quadra-lift costs more than the steel springs/shocks suspension. Nappa leather is more expensive than cloth. Nappa leather/suede is more expensive to manufcature than jsut Nappa.

Example....

In your opinion is it more cost effective for a parts manufacturer to build 100,000 parts or 3800 parts?

Do you mean a negotiated price? Or below MSRP right off the bat?

I made it clear to every dealer I spoke with that I would only pay invoice.....some never got back to me and some agreed.

Re: 2012 runs 13.81

Here is a 15" Brembo 6 piston Front brake kit for the SRT for $3,825.00.
http://purehorsepowerperformance.com...kekit15-2.aspx

Wholesale has to be less than that so..........what's next on the list?

Re: 2012 runs 13.81

And parts won't be limited to just 3800. These parts should be the same for at least 2 model years which makes it 7600. Then, mfg's will produce x amount more for repair, warranty parts and also warehouse stock.

It's not like they are only making 77 of them and that's it (like the Aston One 77)
