Re: 2013 srt8 vs. 2014 srt, help me decide

I agree with Schleprock. That Dealer is a hack and a crook. I like my '12, but I can tell you right now I wouldnt consider a '12 or '13. There are too many little things Chryco dropped the ball on with these models and some have yet to be sorted. Hold out for the '14 unless they get stupid with the pricing.

Re: 2013 srt8 vs. 2014 srt, help me decide

One thing he said about the 13 was "it won't be here long. these things sells fast, may not be here tomorrow." Then he says about the 14 that the $1000.00 is incase I back out and they get stuck with a truck they can't move???

Re: 2013 srt8 vs. 2014 srt, help me decide

Sounds like your typical sleazy salesman trying to play on your emotions. Stay away from that guy. Actually, go talk to him and take him up to his manager if you want to have fun with his emotions...but that's just me because I'm evil

For what it is worth, I don't deal with walk-up salesmen anymore. You are better off to use the dealer website and contact their internet salesman. They are typically high volume guys that bypass more of the B.S. than most...at least that has been my experience for the last 3 vehicles my wife and I have purchased. And #4 that is on its way has been the easiest, most pleasant of all.

There are good people to deal with out there. Unfortunately there are guys like the one you are dealing with that give the stereotypical bad reputation to stealerships.

I use to sell cars @ Dodge on my days off from the fire dept. And no, not all salespeople are bad. Before you go to any dealer you can call and ask for the sales manager and talk to him. That's what I do now on any vehicle I trade for. That way they will set you up with a salesperson and have more interest in the deal. If you have no trade then talk to the vendor from fields on here. He can have the vehicle delivered to a dealer near you. Also some dealers give discounts to military, police and fire. Does not hurt to ask. On MSN autos you can look up invoice pricing with options. It will give a fairly close price you can work off of when you go to the dealer. Try to build a good reputation with the dealer and that will also help with any service problems in the future. And always... always... always ask for a free hat!

Can't be used on the Jeep SRT8

And as far as the guy saying these two thing: "it won't be here long. these things sells fast, may not be here tomorrow." Then he says about the 14 that the $1000.00 is incase I back out and they get stuck with a truck they can't move???

(1) Ask him to show you the build sheet/invoice they have on file, tell him he can even cover their cost. My guess is you'll see a vehicle that has been sitting there a couple months. Then ask why is this going to change in the next 24-48hrs when it hasn't sold yet

(2) Wait a second, you're telling me the 2013 might be gone within 24hrs, but if I order a 2014 and back out......you may be stuck with a vehicle you can't sell????? I thought he just said it is a hot item, which is it? I love it when people who are trying to BS you trip them self up because they are trying to hard. That aside, if they have a vehicle in possession to sell at whatever they want, they have the ability to make money thus there is no imminent loss of funds on the vehicle for them to keep your deposit

Re: 2013 srt8 vs. 2014 srt, help me decide

Just went through the process of buying a 2013 SRT and bought the 2013 because I received a sizable discount. The only option missing was the tow package, which the dealer included as part of the deal. The dealer ordered the factory hitch, wiring harness from the the fuse box back to the hitch and the new correct factory painted SRT hitch cover to replace the standard rear cover. $69,500 is the retail price for an SRT with just about all the options including the tow package, so this dealer is not making you a good deal at all. The dealer has room to move on that price and if you can't get them to come down from retail around $5K at minimum, then shop somewhere else. As was already stated, the 2014 SRT is here and once those are out, the dealership will have a harder time yet selling the previous gen without some incentive for a potential buyer.

Re: 2013 srt8 vs. 2014 srt, help me decide

Assuming $450 in dealer fees and registration fees, a 6% sales tax rate with no trade in, and a $10,000 down payment. Out the door price on a fairly loaded 2013 SRT8 should be no more than $57,000

It appears that over 90% of the new owners are getting dark color jeep more on the black side.
