well....theres an update for the 8.4an right here...13.48.3 that will cure most of the problems and for sure the SRT apps problem your having. As far as the 5 speed vs. 8 speed....I had a 13' and traded it for the 14' just for the 8 speed. Theres no comparison in my book. The 8 speed is a world class gearbox IMHO....PERFECT for the 5000 pound SRT. Its always in the gear i want and if its not...its lightning fast to get where i want it. Its shifts like butter and super fast. never had a better gearbox imho. The shifter does take about 5 minutes to get used to but just hold the button and on click to reverse or3 to drive...easy peasy

Re: 2013 srt8 vs. 2014 srt, help me decide

Thanks for the reply Scott. Yes, I guess I can get used to the gearbox, maybe im too used to the old box?

I had it back at my Jeep dealer 2 times already for the upgrade, with no luck. I taking it there again on Monday, lets hope its finally sorted.

But what about the dvd player, or lack of one? Is there any plans to get some retrofit player, or do we just wait for the Lockpick to become available?

By the way, Thumbs up for a great site!!!

Re: 2013 srt8 vs. 2014 srt, help me decide

just go to the audio/visual forum for the wk2 GC and a link to the upgrade is there for the 8.4an or become a premium member and its in the uconnect forum for premium members. All thats needed is a 1gb stick and 10-15 minutes.

I believe there is a lock pick for the 8.4an already

Re: 2013 srt8 vs. 2014 srt, help me decide

As far as the DVD/CD player goes, there are a ton of guys willing to give up the CD player for a usable, empty center console. Me included. I find music sounds best on a SD card and can't see me watching DVDs in my car. There's always a portable ipad or Galaxy that isn't permanent and won't seem ancient in a few years like a cassette deck does now.

I think both years rock. The grill on the '13 looks mean as hell and its got the flipper glass.

Agree with Scott, almost 500 miles already on the new 2014 and the 8spd gearbox is impressive and much better than the 5sp. Not really in fuel economy, but in performance.
