Can you post a link to the article? I'd be very interested to see what they had to say about the 2013 model year.

TOTALLY FALSE information.... the pano sunroof is Standard on the 2013 Limited and Overland models, optional on Laredo and SRT.

I am sure there are fans of the Pano roof but for the SRT Model...why would you want to add 100 lbs of glass and motors to your ride...in the worst possible place with regard to performance. Oxymoron. Just my 02.

Why would you not? I am guessing a majority of people that are buying these jeeps are not going to be racing them and could care less about an extra 100 lbs. If we are paying as much as we are for these jeeps we want every option available. Just my 02.

Not talking about racing anything. The Jeep SRT8 is about performance...if you don't want performance you would save $20k and get a Limted or Overland. Same vehicle.

If you want performance which has nothing to do with racing it has to do with acceleration, handling and braking on the streets for your drive everyday, you would not....again... in my opinion want a boat anchor on your roof - as weight up high, in a performance vehicle, is the worst possible place to have it.

The pano roof is an option, if there is a huge concern about the impact to performance then a jeep can be ordered without it. It would be interesting to see if there is a detectable difference between one with the pano roof and one without. My guess is that it would not be noticeable on the street.

^ What kbench55 said. I test drove the 2012 Overland Summit and loved all of its features/options (including the Pano roof), so I specifically wanted those options plus the cool performance, sound, appearance and exclusivity of the SRT8. It never occurred to me to start stripping those options to preserve precious pounds so I could maximize performance by a tenth or two on the street. As 12jeep mentioned, you could order the SRT8 without the Pano roof if you like, but if maximum performance and minimal weight are your priorities, there are probably better places to start than a 5,200+ pound 4WD SUV.

I shouldn't have said racing. The point that I was trying to get across is you can only use so much performance on the street which I feel the jeep provides very easily. There comes a point where the full potential of the performance will need to take place on a track. It is at this point where maybe a 100 lbs sunroof will have an affect but for the street, if you are following the law, will be very little noticeable difference, if any.
