Re: 2014/2015 - Do you have a noticeable jerk on 6-5 shifts + a clunk?

So I got my jeep back from the dealership with a new transmission update and a brand new transfer case. I've originally narrowed it down to the transfer case because my clunks where in a series of 4 one after the other right after I stop and go within the first 2 or 3 gears. clunk....clunk.clunk ..clunk lol it especially got worse if i where to back up with the wheels completely turned either way.. then the clunking was especially worse after that and the stop and start you noticed it right away.

So they changed the transfer case and I can't be any happier !! I got my brand new jeep back it's awesome and I love it. No clunking what so ever at any speed and the first 3 gears are smooth. I can't comment on the new transmission update because it's been only 3 days' since I have it. And besides I've been having this clunk problem for months now and I wouldn't be able to to tell the difference between transmission updates...

So if anyone has clunks right after you stop and go within the first 2 or 3 gears... Do this back up with your wheels turned all the way and go slow.. "If" it's your transfer case you will notice a jerking while you back up.. and then the clunks will because very apparent right after. Now once you pin point the problem and to avoid getting jerked around at the dealership in getting it warranty fixed, bring the shop formen for a drive and put your jeep in reverse with your wheels turned all the way.. It's something about in the transfer case that they have 2 clutches systems and pressure and whatever I don't know. That what the formen said..
Anyways get him to sit in the back passenger seat ( right above the transfer case) and he will feel the clunks. He has no choice to acknowledge and get you a new transfer case. If you don't do this they will go through the elimination process and start by the easy less costly fixes.. which cost you time and money and nobody should be without his SRT for any period of time. ...

I hope this helps at least one person in this tread cuz it made a world of a difference to me..

Wasn't that the same problem that the 2011-2012's were having? Wasn't there a recall for this in those years, or a TSB?

This is getting even weirder, just had the new May TSB update done to the trans on my 14 SRT.... Drove like different vehicle, way better.... So after a few days I put it into sport mode today, worked fine.....parked it.... Drove it later in auto/normal mode and now it's acting up again like before the last TSB..... I think it's possessed, has to be😝

Anybody know if this was the same type of problem the 11-12's were having?

Not sure about the 11-12s, as I think these ZF 8 & 9 speed transmissions were new for 2014..... Mine has the rough weird down shifts, but so far no clunks, 10k miles on mine
