First started noticing the 6-5 jerk/roughness early on, but it was very mild. Past about 200-250 miles it got more noticeable and I started hearing the clunks. Now it's really bad, even after the new transmission. When it's fully heated up like after a highway drive it'll sometimes jerk and clunk so badly that it's like I got hit by another car I actually have to look really quick to make sure no one did...

2500 miles on my 15' ( december build) my vote is no.

No clunking. I can feel it shift but I don't think it is clunking as others describe.

There were a bunch of software updates, I was told by dealer ones for the tranny too?

Mine goes in Friday for several updates, state inspection and oil change.

Mine is a new to me 2014 with 6,000 miles on it.

No new software for 2015's...several of us hoping for an update soon though. I may be able to find put from the engineers looking at mine today whether there is one in the pipeline.

Re: 2014/2015 - Do you have a noticeable jerk on 6-5 shifts + a clunk?

I'd love a magic software update, but mine just feels like the tolerances are off somewhere in the driveline(too much slop). After the internal parts heat up or the fluid thins out is when mine gets bad. I'm about to start replacing parts on my own. Starting with the transfer case.

I would keep an eye out for one...

When I had my 2014 Ram, the tranny was clunky on downshifts.

A software update finally came and fixed it.

It had something to do with the converter locking and unlocking

Re: 2014/2015 - Do you have a noticeable jerk on 6-5 shifts + a clunk?

I've got a 2014 early build (4/2013) and have had absolutely no issues whatsoever. Smooth as silk. I imagine most of us are having a good experience with this 8 spd. It's a great trans really.

I'm pretty sure my trans is from ZF Germany.. I wonder if these problems started for folks after Chrysler started building the trannys themselves.

2014/2015 - Do you have a noticeable jerk on 6-5 shifts + a clunk?

My 15 has the 6-5 downshift issue pretty much since day one. Not that bad, but enough that I knew it wasn't normal from the beginning. I have maybe 1800 miles clocked. It bugs me and can't wrap my head around how jeep hasn't recalled these trans and corrected it. Maybe they need to see this thread and do something. Wtf!!!

Will have to bring it in and complain soon. Maybe get the updates.

FYI, When I use paddle shifters it doesn't do it as much, still there, but not as noticeable.

Still love my truck!!!
