Very interested to hear if the shaft bearing replacement you mentioned will eliminate the clunk sound too...which I don't think will be fixed with software even if the shifts are smoothed out.

I have a 2014 with 14k on the clock no issue what so ever. Sorry to hear about this guy's most of the time I can't even tell the tranny is down shifting butter smooth. Build date is 10/13. Is anyone noticing a link to build dates or is it all over the place?!

It seems to me it's the early build 15's that are having the issues. Is it because of the now Chrysler built 8 speed?

I think ZF just opened a plant in the states, but I have a '14 with build date in March. It's gotten a lot better since the battery disconnect. Happens occasionally.

My 2015 was smooth after a battery disconnect...for about 20 miles, tops.

TSB is posted...not really optimistic it doesn't mention anything about the specific 6-5 5-4 behavior or the clunk at all, I guess we'll see.

JS, any word on that bearing replacement yet?

I just called. It's still clunking away. I'm gutted. They're still working on it trying to figure out the source. I just left a message with my case manager about buying me out of this vehicle. The dealership said they will keep working on it until they heard otherwise.

Did they do the flash too JS? Clunking notwithstanding, did the shifting smooth out with the flash? I assume a battery reset after the flash would be important to let it relearn with the new software in place.

They are going to load the program and see what it does. They feel like it's a mechanical problem at this point, but they are going to try it anyway. They also now have a roaming Chrysler tech coming in to look at the vehicle. I'll keep you posted.

2014/2015 - Do you have a noticeable jerk on 6-5 shifts + a clunk?

I spoke with my case manager and she is going to move my case up for review to see if it can be replaced with a new SRT. She stated it would take 3-7 working days to hear back from them as to whether or not they would replace it. They are going to continue working on my current SRT until we hear something. At this point I'm hoping they just get me a new jeep, but doubt they will.
