JS, any word on that bearing replacement yet?
From what I read on there, it looks like it "should" take care of ALL upshifts and ALL downshifts.
Let's hope so. Once and for all!

Do you guys have an audio file of the sound? I have a 2010 f150 platinum right now along with my 2015 srt with 150000 kms on it (f150), SRT has 1000kms). In the first 40000 kms on the f150, it had this sudden "bang" from the transmission when it down shifted to the first gear. The transmission had to be hot and I had to come off the highway travellng into stop and go city traffic. It was like somebody rear ended you or something. Anyway, got it flashed a couple times and had an attentive tech that did the flash CORRECTLY and then it started getting better and better then eventually it never did it again. 150000kms and the transmission is great on the f150.

Re: 2014/2015 - Do you have a noticeable jerk on 6-5 shifts + a clunk?

Luckily I get monthly Uconnect health updates so I can see how my SRT is doing. It looks like my rear tire is a little low on pressure. I feel like I've been through a divorce. I still get to pay for my SRT, but only get to see it every other weekend.

It now has 2,560 miles in it.

What is a Uconnect health update? I don't get those.

It's a monthly report you can get when you register with Uconnect. It shows any trouble codes that have been tripped, oil change status, tire pressure, etc.

Re: 2014/2015 - Do you have a noticeable jerk on 6-5 shifts + a clunk?

Got the TSB flash today, as expected didn't even touch the clunk (which is obviously mechanical, it will now do it even without an accompanying jerk from the transmission).

However, I must say in the 10 or so miles I drove it so far, the downshifts are definitely smoother and it feels a little more responsive on upshifts when you floor it, or under acceleration. So they got something right at least...for now.

Any progress on fixing the mechnical clunk would be good though.

That's very disappointing. I had my hopes up.
I wonder if part of the problem are the techs doing the update flashes? Are they doing it correctly to hold the updates? Maybe all these updates are good, but the techs are the issue? Either way,...it's a freaking shame. I would order a Jeep SRT, but I don't think that's going to happen.
Keep us posted. Maybe the transmission needs to "relearn" itself a bit?

I think it's kind of nonsensical that software could cure such a mechanical sounding clunk...I think there is another correction that needs to be made to resolve that.

Re: 2014/2015 - Do you have a noticeable jerk on 6-5 shifts + a clunk?

I'm thinking maybe it is the u joints or the splines in the driveshaft?
Some people have removed their original slip jokes and replaced them with a nickle plated slip yoke. (I have read/seen other vehicles have this issue doing a Google search and they all mention the u joints and slip yoke.)
Has anyone here had their u joints or slip yokes greased or replaced?

Re: 2014/2015 - Do you have a noticeable jerk on 6-5 shifts + a clunk?

My entire rear drive shaft was replaced and it didn't change a thing. Maybe an aftermarket shaft would help, but still jeep should know it's a problem. At this point I'm thinking transfer case.

Jeep should definitely know it's a problem by now with how many people have complained or got their transmissions/transfer cases replaced. Plus, I think they may read these threads once in a while.
It may be the transfer case and/or the gears inside the transfer case. It may be the u joints or the slip yokes. It may the carrier bearing inside the drive shaft. It is definitely something along those lines. Just wish there were a definite answer to this.

Re: 2014/2015 - Do you have a noticeable jerk on 6-5 shifts + a clunk?

Well I can say two things after yesterday (I got the tranny flash and did the UConnect update):

The transmission definitely shifts differently, and is much smoother in 6-5 downshifts (5-4 is still a little jerky at times) under slow coasting. However, the clunk is still present and now occurs seemingly randomly during a deceleration phase (sometimes as soon as you let off the gas, sometimes as you come to a stop, not always at the same time as a downshift, etc.).

The Sirius/XM audio quality is vastly improved, if not perfect or at the same quality as a high quality source. It was atrocious before.

Still debating whether to get another 2015 SRT when I lemon this thing, or wait until the 2016's are available for ordering and gamble on another new model year having further kinks worked out. Or just bail on the brand entirely, which I don't want to do as anything close to the Jeep in features is >$100K.
