2014/2015 - Do you have a noticeable jerk on 6-5 shifts + a clunk?

All,

Myself and several others are trying to ascertain how widespread this issue is, and whether it exists in all vehicles and only depends on the sensitivity of the driver (i.e. we're noticing it and it's bothering us, but others aren't even though their vehicles behave the same as ours).

Please choose and option, and relate your experiences, thanks!

Here are some supporting threads:

I've been following those threads for weeks now, and I'm honestly a little worried since my SRT is being delivered in 2 weeks. Interested in seeing the results.

I'm just wanting to try and determine how isolated or prevalent it may be...since I may be in a buyback situation soon I want to know if I'd be stuck with the same problem if I order another one.

Re: 2014/2015 - Do you have a noticeable jerk on 6-5 shifts + a clunk?

A most definite YES from me.

I've contacted two other dealerships trying to get a second opinion on mine, but neither one would touch it. They all have tried, but my district manager with whom they've all contacted to talk too about the case would rather me take it to a dealership that has serviced SRT's. Apparently it disqualifies them. My case manager is now going to call my district manager a ask her where to take it. I guess I've been black listed.

What a hot mess.

If this trans was meant to clunk on the 6-5 downshift, how come it doesn't do it when it's cold? Mine is only after it warms up to about 160. At around 200 it's a clunking nightmare.

Sorry for derailing your survey, but I want people to know what they may be stepping in.

Yeah, I have been following them as well.
I really want to place that order on a 2015, but I am afraid of this issue happening. Especially on a 70K daily driver. I would be very upset and very unhappy.

I have a 2015 (Sept 2014 build), 2600 miles and no downshift issues. Voted no.

Re: 2014/2015 - Do you have a noticeable jerk on 6-5 shifts + a clunk?

Just giving my word of thought I own a 12 and I used to get the 2-3 gear clunk all the time was horrible to try and punch it around 30 and get a horrible clunk then finally go. Wasn't until a couple of months I has notified from here about some updates which included a transmission module update. Needless to say after the update never had the problem again. I know we're talking about two different transmissions but was maybe thinking hopefully it could be as simple as a module or computer update in the near future sorry to hear about the problem guys

2014/2015 - Do you have a noticeable jerk on 6-5 shifts + a clunk?

My 15 has this issue but since disconnecting the negative terminal several weeks ago, it seems to be better. Happens still occasionally but it's not nearly as prevalent as before. I notice on mine that when it does happen, the trans skips 5 gear and goes from 6th to 4th (watch the dash trans display) which would make sense why the clunk and surge forward. Could this be a simple programming fix?

I am going to go to a local dealer tomorrow that has no less than FIVE Jeep SRT's on the lot...see if I can drive a couple of them and see if there's ones without this issue. Might help my sanity if nothing else.

Question for those that have this issue. Did this happen out of the lot, or after a few hundred/thousand miles?

Re: 2014/2015 - Do you have a noticeable jerk on 6-5 shifts + a clunk?

Mine started at around 250-300 miles.

New valve body
Updated software
New trans and torque converter

Still clunking away 2,300 miles.
