the 6.2 is a different engine. I guarantee you will hear info on the hellcat Jeep here before you hear it from Jeep/SRT

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - Features & Changes

I know that much, but I thought I read that the 6.2 is just different cylinder heads. I could be wrong, but the intake could be the same, right? I guess Jeep would be shooting themselves in the foot if they made a retrofitted S/C.
On a side not, I'm not sure if I like the old name Apache, or the new name, Hellcat..
Wonder why that changed.

Those are pretty much internal names used to identify different engine programs. They may, or may not ever use "Hellcat" for public marketing purposes.

I posted a thread on the differences between the "apache" the popular name at the time and the current 6.4. I got that info from the horses mouth....the main engineer. I link it later.

one,really.

It remind me how they would go out of their way to get an expensive dodge viper in the showroom and put rope around the viper to attract people in the show room, and the viper cost more than the jeep SRT8,a bunch of BS,they can get a jeep SRT8 in every Chrysler show room in Canada if they want, and these jeep will get sold.

Its also how dishonest how they jack up the price for one of these vehicle in Canada especially when the Canadian $ is stronger or on par with the US$ most of the time. What a bunch of crooks.
I know every SRT jeep that SK got in 2012 was sold before it even got to the dealership, probably why none could be seen in the showrooms. My jeep was not even taken to the dealership, I picked it up at their PDI lot, as the salesman didn't want everyone going through it before I saw it. The first SRT jeep I saw in person was mine, the dealer is right in saying they are very hard to get in SK.

There are a couple dealers in SK that are good and will not jack up the prices. Believe me, I found them on my search lol.

Wonder why that changed.

To change displacement on an engine you have to increase or decrease the bore or the stroke or both. The 6.2 will have less compression than the 6.4 to take full advantage of the blower. Adding a blower to the 6.4 and using pump gas is not going to be a stellar setup. We may pick up a 100 horse or so, maybe less. With the compression of the 6.4 at 10.9:1 there is not a lot of room to work with without meth injection or better fuel.

So basically our only hope is the small things like headers, different exhaust, CAI's etc.. yes?

grand total difference with the above maybe 60-70 hp extra area?

(headers often add 45-55hp, cai's add 5 area or so I have been told but some say 10.. heck if i know) and exhaust varies from exhaust to exhaust and how's it's set up but.. area of 5-15hp?

I'm not much of a gearhead and I'd be the first to say this so correct me where wrong

Those numbers are very optimistic.. Netting 40hp +/- a few, with those mods would be more typical.

I would agree with you here. A blower setup is gonna be very expensive for most peeps and anything but cost effective in my eyes. IMO, you would be better off saving the 7-8K spent on a blower set up, enjoy the little add on mods until you get bored with the truck and then move on. Im not dropping a ton of money in mine only to never see it again in 18-24 months. 1500 bucks will get you quite a bit more performance and drivability. Trinity, Borla, CAI, a 180 Thermo and call it a day.
