Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - Features & Changes

As for the Sepia leather I live in the states and although it was clearly shown at the Detroit show, I have not been able to order it.... I understand for now it is a Canadian option only.... Hard to figure why they showcase something, build demand and then not make it readily available

I spoke with my dealer today, they told me they spoke to Chrysler Canada literally today regarding my SRT. They were told it has a March build date estimated and should arrive at dealership in late April, early May if all goes normal on the line.

He also told me he made a deal to speed things up, by buying several Caravans, Darts etc.

This morning, upon checking the build sheet Milous puts up, I see that my SRT is in "Pre-Release" stage as of Jan 31, 2013.

I know that's no big deal.. but it sure has me smiling!

thx Milous!
If I can give you any advice, do not hold much weight as to what the dealer is telling you. I was told all the same things above and the dealer was not even close to being right.

I was told certain things by the dealer that I was not happy with and didn't agree with. I took a shot in the dark and email Ralph Gilies with my concerns and questions. Believe it or not he actually emailed me back in a few hours and answered my questions and solved my concerns.

My experience is some dealers are going to tell you things to make you feel important and make it look like they are bending over backwards for you. Emphasis on SOME dealers as not all of them are like that. But I was told all the same things you were told by my dealer and in the end they screwed me.

Not saying that is going to happen to you and actually I bet your jeep gets there a lot sooner than they are telling you right now, especially if it is in prerelease right now. I would be willing to bet that if your jeep shows up earlier then expected your dealer will say something like "We know you were getting really anxious so we purchased another 12 Caravans so that the factory would put a rush on your SRT, that's why it came in early." You will have to let us know if they use this line on you.

Please don't get me wrong I am not trying to be negative or burst your bubble, just want you to be informed about how I was treated by some of the dealers here in western Canada, yes I was told that by more than one dealer.

If I were you I would follow Milous advice and information very closely because he was bang on to the day and I knew more than my dealer because of Milous.

Just reading your post makes me excited for you, lol. Brings back memories of a little over a year ago when I was waiting for mine!

I agree. I hope Sepia is released for US orders soon. My dealer was able to select Sepia when my order was placed on 1/15, but the order is on hold (BE Status) since it is now not available.

I think this is very bad for Chrysler corp and Jeep. I have ordered my SRT but I resent the games on things like the leather and colors,

I agree. They should have had this straight long ago. Also, how hard is it to put out accurate pricing to all when you reveal a vehicle and open order banks.

There should be none of this late availability crap; If you offer it in the reveal, it should be available to order, complete with pricing.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - Features & Changes

I am guessing the reason Sepia is not avail for US audience yet is most likely a supplier issue. Canada won't order anywhere near as many to begin with, heck - California or Texas order more SRT's than all of Canada combined.

If they only have so much Sepia... but they're getting more, why not make use of what they have without limiting the fans? Can't really say yes, Washington state and Oregon get Sepia - the rest of the US gets to wait. LOL

Easier to say yes to Canada - knowing they can cover this, and they're not making enemies down south.

Not sure this is the reason but from a supply point of view, to me anyway - sort of makes sense.

I definitely believe Mr Gilles wrote you back, he's a stand up guy that cares about the SRT and how the fans (us) perceive it. It's that kind of dedication that wins over life long fans.

I'm already ready to commit to a Viper in 2014 or 2015. Not a clue where I'd drive it in Canada.. lol... but I'd drive it faaaaaast!

/wishful thinking

sepia is now an option on ALL of the SRT's I think....so there could be supplier issues

This is what makes me angry. I don't think sepia will work with re and black but the same leather will come in black. At this price point 1500$ more is insignificant compared with a "I wish I had" later in the year!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - Features & Changes

So you dOnt think the sepia works with bril black ext. this is gonna kill me if I have to wait for the black lacuna leather. I have a feeling the laguna leather with the speacial headliner and pillars is going to be so much nicer than the regular black and suede
