Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - Features & Changes

I wish the pdf was a bit clearer on the 2nd wheel choice...some photochops would be in order

I'm sure we will see decent pictures soon enough though.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - Features & Changes

This is what was in the pdf:

I've been trying to find something that I can piece towards it, but this is the best I've done thus far:

But the center of each spoke needs to have a 'channel' 'dip' in towards the center cap... maybe I'll get lucky and find one closer, maybe I'll play with photoshop tomorrow...

Wonder if one of the guys on the line would confirm that the pdf shows the wheel they saw in the past that Ralph said was just a proto/not for production?

Yes, the ones in the PDF are the ones I spoke of a while back. They've been used on most all SRT pilots for at least the last 3 months. I don't know why Ralph said that. According to the PDF these wheels will be an option, with the black chrome wheels as standard. Sounds about right. There's another (unpictured) wheel set that'll be used later. But what you have there is fairly close to what's being installed. Again, similar to the old Ram wheel.

so standard will be black chrome, and launch control is standard?

Christmas has come early I see.

Here's hoping for more goodies before launch!

Thanks guys!

Cool - thanks for the clarification Chevy. How do you like them after seeing them more? I am one of the minority it seems, I love the 2012-13 SRT wheels - I think they fit the shape of the body/flares well.

One more question regarding the finish...what exactly does "Bright polished" imply? Are they chrome and that is just another way to say it? Or are they polished Al?

(Just curious because I've never had good luck with factory chrome not pitting. My SS wheels look like crap and that car is a garage queen that gets cleaned up every time it re-enters the garage - but that is another forum topic altogether )

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - Features & Changes

They are polished aluminum.. And yes, they've grown on me. At first I hated them. All I saw was Ram when I looked at them. But now I'd say they're second best. Personally I like the hypercoated wheels best. I'm not a fan of chrome wheels at all, and the black chrome look nice, but I don't like dark wheels without a contrast lip. I like there to be something to distinguish the edge of the wheel from the tire. (Although I gotta say, Scott's wheels are pretty nice..)

But with that said, I definitely will be exercising that option in my order.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - Features & Changes

Good to hear that they are polished Al - that will have me photoshopping or waiting for an actual picture of them on the vehicle to decide. Hmm, do I want to go dark or go classic? It's going to be real hard to make these decisions come order time if we don't have a clearer pic!

Decisions decisions.

Thanks as always for the input!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - Features & Changes

from what Ive seen i would say they look more like the optional Viper wheel except with a little more flare on the spoke lips
