Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - Features & Changes

I'd throw my two cents in Mubai but I'm in Western Canada and well.. that's a haul and a half for you... not to mention it's cheaper in the States.

Good luck man!

you might want to go find a dealer and put a deposit down if you haven't yet - a lot of dealers are reporting they get one per dealer, that's it.

SRT wants to keep the brand desirable/rare - so if you went to my dealer as an example in Alberta - they'd send you somewhere else because I already have the one they get.

If you wait too long, you won't get one because other SRT's will all be spoken for.

Good things come to those who wait, good thing I never rush and buy the 5 speed, actually I have spoken to the dealer already and they told me they can get one for me anytime I want,I guess money talk, when you can find $80,000+ or $70,000+ cash to buy a brand new vehicle, there will be no financing, they even ask me if I am going to trade my 1995 jeep orvis edition for it, and I said no,I am giving it to a friend.

Hey handywk or anyone else that's D1 SRT without a delivery date.... I'm wondering if you ordered from a metro Detroit or surrounding area, midwest dealer? My assumption is that we don't have est delivery dates because our vehicles will be in driving range of dealerships and not have a firm train schedule such as other American deliveries. Anyone else think this is possible?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - Features & Changes

Do you agree on a price before you put a deposit down? Or do you just put a deposit and wait for pricing and options?

UConnect RA4 - is there a monthly subscription fee for this? What's included with and without the monthly subscription fee? I like the idea of remote start from anywhere. As soon as I land from a business trip would be nice to fire up the Jeep to get it warm. I looked on UConnect's website but couldn't figure out if there was a monthly fee, besides for WiFi (but even that, I know there is cost, but don't know the amount).

I had a price negotiated with respect to invoice before the order banks even opened. If I was ordering at this point, I would make a deal down to the dollar before I put a deposit down as all options/pricing are known...

First year is free, I'm not sure if I've seen what the costs are after the 'trial'...

We're all buying the same SRT - so we all have money and no, money doesn't talk. The dealer gets paid the same amount either way, cash vesus credit - makes zero difference. It did make a difference 20 years back - the last four vehicles I have bought, I paid outright with cash for. They were the same price as if I'd have used credit and yes, that's with haggling.

If you are the guy that gets the 2014 SRT because you were first to order from that dealership, then it's yours. As for talking to a car salesman and him saying yes, I can get one etc - car salesmen mean well but it's possibly they're unaware the dealership already sold their one allocated unit is what I am saying. Sadly I have dealt with my share of car salesmen that made shit up as they went along, so I learned not to really believe much of what they say they can get until, they have gotten it.

If you were in the States - then yes, you'd be able to find one easy. In Canada though? Each dealer is allocated (I was told but perhaps told wrong) for one unit. Even then, some that have already ordered, are still waiting so then it comes down toy our dealer and their pull with Chrysler Canada etc as to when it gets built etc.

What I am saying here - don't keep waiting. Go buy it while you can.

I really hope you get your Jeep man!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - Features & Changes

I'm in Toronto, and I'm personally waiting for the Bluray player, and Laguna leather. Also I don't want to accept delivery of my truck at the beginning of winter. I want to get it at the beginning of spring, so assuming a 6 month waiting period I should order mine in sept, oct. I'm in no rush considering the money I'm spending. I'll even get a used one and not have to take the $10,000 hit in depreciation as soon as I drive off the lot. Can you lease an SRT?
