New member from Europe reporting! Just spend last couple of months studying Jeeps.
Learned a lot. Here is my story how I got hooked.
Since my third child was just born present Ford Kuga simply doesn't fit any more. Fortunately oldest one doesn't ride with us any more and I start browsing for second car for more space and luxury. Jeep was familiar brand, two closed friends drive one ( GC 2102 CRD Black and GC 2008 CRD Goldie) Yes EU is all about diesel.
As a energy saving inventor & company owner I was all about diesel engine of course.
95% of may past cars where diesel engines and I feed my dark sporty side with chip tunings, which if I may add, are awesome. You get power and lower consumption at the same time. As a responsible earth lower I always look down to people with oversize engines with ludicrous consumption. On the other hand I love the sounds of those fuel eaters. Especially as a former bike racer. Present ride Honda Valkiry 1600cc with 6 flat gives you best Porsche ,…ups sorry, SRT sound, I am slowly pushing my 50s and need to chill down.
Last year I have spent some time in US and Venzuela where I could admire beasts with V roar. So there was always a fight between primary instinkt of modern cave man and responsible earth conqueror and I was always secretly looking over with some envy.
All that suddenly changed when I came across 2014 SRT. This is a most beautiful-beautifull car ever! All I have dream to get from the car. Space for the family, snow operation 4x4 possibilities and not just another vehicle to get you from A to B and finally enough luxury for a "old" guy like me.
I really miss those feelings when you sat in your car and go for a drive just for fun!
My earth loving part must and should be satisfied with promised consumption. I presume what you're going to say…. Who's buying SRT and thinking about dose things ..its all about sport features… who care about those costs, etc. Please be gentile with bashing
Also have in mind this will be my business car also, with cca 30-40 miles per year. Every year for those many to come.
Any way when EU sales start I will be ordering Black or Grey SRT 2014, haven't decided yet. Hopefully they will open banks just after Geneve show, starting next week. Will go there to check colours, maybe for EU there will be some difference in interior possibilities. Will keep you posted and try to get in to many discussion as possible
Does anybody from insiders know when Eu production is schedular? Dealer are quiet down here, they don't know much.
Thank you all for helping me change my mind and get me hooked on SRTs.
