Re: 2014 Jeep SRT tuning..... Diablosport

Wow. Just wow. All I have heard is pants data. I don't give a **** about DYNO bullshit. Why is it that two identical cars with different brand SC kits can hit the dyno on the same day and same conditions. Car 1 dynos another 50-100HP over Car 2. Yet every single time they race each other at the track Car 2 wins. This happens quite a bit. AWD and Automatic factors out driver error unless you're in a 9 second car.

I WANT TO SEE REAL WORLD DATA PROVING A TUNE. This information is available 100X on the WK1. Get a Predator tune, 1/4 mile time drops beyond a reasonable doubt. When every single user reports track verified gains then changes in conditions average out.

There is zero track verified data proving beyond a reasonable doubt that custom tunes on 2014s do a ****ing thing. Period. I've pulled 3.9-4.2s throughout winter 0-60 bone stock, and I weigh around 275lbs. I pulled a 12.95 in the 1/4 the first time I went to the track. That was with water on my tires and a bad launch. I want to see at least 5 relatively stock Jeeps run 12.6 to 12.8s in great weather with a custom tune. Then and only then will I believe custom tunes are worth a damn.

I'm not looking for one user to report back. I'm looking for many users to report back. **** a dyno. Let's see track numbers.

Great point well said should have figured you would lay it down exactly what I was trying to prove point by point LOL

I still stick to my original post on the subject a tune is marginal period everything else is smoke and mirrors JMO

Something else of note is overtaking times. 60-100km/h times are as important if not more so than 0-100. Seriously ,unless your rich or just a dick your not needing to do 0-100 times at every light stop. Whilst accelerating in gear is used much more.
Also if your talking track times,.4 of a second translates into over a second in 400m times, and that is a fair amount.
Sorry boys but I've had tunes and even on atmo cars they can and do make a huge difference. Ask anyone with a gen3 or gen4 chev. Trouble is these things are already at their thermal limits so big tune risks could be costly. Anyway I figure a more than 10% increase in power for about $3k is ok by me. Actually works out cheap if you consider it's less than 5% of vehicle cost.

While I can agree 100% because I own a 2013 Chevy tuned to the max making 750HP to the wheels within 30 days of purchasing it because They have full tuning right off the lot which is the reason I bought it.

Now the jeep is a different animal all together and tuning just is not fully their yet.

See anyone that has been Around since the 05 300 knows it's the same thing is going on today. When the full tuning was released in 2008-09 I forget exactly the year track times improved again same is going on here without getting into The I know this I know that BS trying to look like a know it all.

I'm honest with customers and give them a dollar to HP value and tuning is not their so I don't sell Em or push handhelds never mind custom tunes even tho I work with two of the best record holding tuners in the world we talk and agree.

I was just going to prove a point from the begining that no matter what anyone is doing it is not full period and that is a fact. This is why you have seen Livernoise taking their time and creating their own tuning for the WHIPPLE it's not so say the WHIPPLE that've creating a issue. I try to make customers pay attention to what's going on look around pay attention to what people are talking about sign is their that's all. If people are happy with custom tunes great have all the supporting mods first or a custom tune is marginal at best.

i dont agree with you on this, ive had mine dynoed on 2 different dynos same brand different days and ran 2 different gears 4th, 6th and have the same numbers.

i understand dyno tuning is to try and get the best tune without be a hoon on the streets BUT 95% of ALL car enthusiast do go to the dyno sheet, even chad said about seeing a dyno sheet.

i do agree with you about real numbers and actual track times and so forth but then that isnt a even playing field with drivers and reaction times as well.

Lets get my questions answered I am not falling into a back and forth with you like I see some shops do with you for no good reason at all.

Here is the question broken down with no smart ass/Unpriofessional Smoke Up Ass comment (as that's how I guess you took it).

What are the fans doing for you?

Do you have any Dyno results?

See the world I live in a tune to changing shift points to make it shift sooner or later to make it feel like it's going faster or leaning something out to try to make power or turning fans on and off proves noting a DYNO is where it's at.

If your happy great that's awesome don't think I questioned your happiness or told you "You are full of S**t you can't feel results it's all BS"
i was having a really crap day and when you readt txt emails and posts it cn be mood driven and take things the wrong way, if i have well i will always say sorry .

i am happy and what can i say i do get a bit off the handle when i get frustrated with some some , but emotion is ilife.

ill bang up those dyno sheets again for you.
