2014 oil filter part#?

Well, I checked with the dealership and they told me 4884899AA...and I checked with the dealership selling them on eBay and they told me the same...so I ordered a 6-pack of them.

Tonight I went and got a filter wrench that fit since it is tucked up there nicely, drained the oil and went to take off the filter...no go. The filter on the Jeep is bigger in diameter than the 4884899AA is, so the wrench won't fit. I can't see the numbers on it either (since it is tucked up there nicely).

Anyone have the part # for the 2014 SRT oil filter?

This go round I'll just fill her back up with the Pennzoil Ultra without the filter change, but I'd like to get the 6-pack I have swapped out so I'm ready next time.

Is it a different filter than a 13? Let us know what you find out.

That is my guess as I believe that 4884899AA is the correct part for the '12 and '13...at least that is what I was told by 2 dealerships.

I know that the one on my '14 is bigger in diameter than the six 4884899AA filters I have

Maybe justforjeeps can help us out. I'm in Canada there is no way any local dealer here is going to have the proper filter for me.
I just looked through the owners manual and there is no mention of a part number for the oil filter.

04884899AB, same for all 2008-2014 hemi models.

Are the filters you got definitely "AA", or are they "AB"?

I'd pull the filter and see what part number is on it, you may have to just loosen it a partial turn to see the p/n. The 899AB will definitely fit. Maybe the dealer changed out the filter before delivery for some reason?

Re: 2014 oil filter part#?

I can vouch that the dealer didn't change anything... I'll try to get back under and look at it with a light tonight. That thing is tucked up there! I like the little plastic oil slide they made for when you remove it though - HA!

Re: 2014 oil filter part#?

Not that it would make any difference, but why not go for the SRT filter?

Re: 2014 oil filter part#?

I just went with what the dealer said was the correct filter based upon the VIN.

They said: "Per your VIN the correct oil filter is part # 4884899AA or 4884899AB. 899AA & AB are exactly the same filter, AA superseded by AB."

The filter on the vehicle isn't white like the SRT filter, it's black but the numbers are the wrong way. I don't have a wrench that fits it, so I couldn't turn it to figure it out. I'll have to look again later.

Be careful from what any dealer tells you. 99% of the time, the SRT enthusiast knows more than the dealer ever will.

Chrysler used to stamp the filter installed at the engine plant with something like "Original factory filter", not sure if they still do that.

I just changed my oil. The oil filter on the 14 is the same as the models before, 04884899AB.
I ended up using an Amsoil EaO11 filter.
