Seriously?

There are three sentences in the text you quoted from the manual where it says changing it more often is not only OK, but may be required.

* More frequent maintenance
may be needed for vehicles in severe operating
conditions, such as dusty areas and very short trip
driving.

* service should also be done
anytime a malfunction is suspected.

* Change your engine oil more often if you drive your
vehicle off-road for an extended period of time.

And note that the those terms are not defined. You have to use judgement, but in all three cases it clearly authorizes changing more often than the 6/6000 or 6/10000 schedule.

Finally: Under no circumstances should oil change intervals
exceed 6,000 miles (10,000 km) or six months, whichever
comes first.

Clearly "not exceed" means that the specified distance and time is the least often you should change your oil. Given how explicit "not exceed" is stated, and given the rest of the text, it cannot possibly mean "at exactly ... no more and no less."

So thats not hard to understand, if you want to keep your warranty intact go by what the manufactures tells you. Don't do what you think is best or what someone on the internet tells you.
You always seem to kill a thread with your idiotic posts

Again...in case you missed it. Right from the owners manual...........

If you think your right then show me where it specifies changing the oil earlier than they tell you is ok.

So looks like you are the one implying saying that it WILL NOT cause issues cuz you don't know that for sure. Period

This is one of the idiotic posts I have ever read.

Clearly the poster is both uneducated and misguided about the topic of oil change intervals as well as missing a good dose of common sense. Wow..

No. But it's a good, simple practice that provides only positive outcome with no drawbacks. After that you can run a quality synthetic for 6-7k miles.

And again folks, if you want to change your oil MORE often than the specification you are not risking your warranty by doing so. Just be sure to change it AT LEAST as often as it says.

Move along...nothing to see here...

You are such a robot. You are exactly how the government wants us to be, just a puppet. Make some decisions for yourself man. Wake up. If they listed everything you could or couldn't do the manual would be 100k pages long. I'm just so confused why you are on this site. You literally help no one and your points are so far off. Do you really have nothing better to do than disagree with what everyone says. Just wake up man, it's sad how trained you are. Get a little bit of freedom in you.

So SRT owners are taking their rides off road in dusty conditions and very short trips. bs

Re: 2014 SRT oil change...

Well, I've 1500 miles on mine and this thread has motivated me to go get an oil change.

I'll try the Mopar filter and report if it develops a leak.

Is Mobil1 0w40 full synthetic ok to use?
