Re: 2014 SRT oil change...

Technically, according to manuals, 6k miles.

In reality, you should probably do first oil changes on new vehicles after about 750-1000 miles. Helps get that initial break in of fine metals and such out of the oil. Is it extremely necessary? No. But it's a good, simple practice that provides only positive outcome with no drawbacks. After that you can run a quality synthetic for 6-7k miles.

In the 2014 manual that I have, it says first oil change at 6k, and then every 6k after that.

Re: 2014 SRT oil change...

I suggest you HIGHLY stay away from the mopar filters...too many failures reported here! I suggest the K&N gold oil filter part # hp2010.
I had my oil changed at 750 miles on y 13' and now getting ready t change again at 7000 miles. Im using the penzzoil ultra 0w40 srt oil of course.

Re: 2014 SRT oil change...

I changed my oil at 1200 miles on my 14 SRT and used the recommended Pennzoil Ultra 0W40 with an Amsoil EaO11 oil filter. Next change will be when ever the Evic says or at a max of 6000 miles.

I have never heard of a Mopar filter failing, been using them for years. What issues have there been?

3 different times the filter starts leaking 2500-3000 miles into the oil change. It's almost like clockwork now. If it happens again with my current one on there I'm going to switch to aftermarket.

Agree. They are in use way more than K&Ns as they are the dealer stock item. If there was an issue they'd be fixed ASAP.

Needs to be put on looser. Over-tightening.

Interesting, I'll have to mention that next time to the service manager. Thanks!
