I think that video highlights why I went with the S vs the ATAK quite well.

The ATAK is louder, yes. But listen to the difference between the S and ATAK between the shifts. The S growls between gears. The ATAK sounds like it rattles between gears. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but to me it sounded a little like the old cherry bomb mufflers we used to put on our 5.0 Mustangs back in the day.

To my ears (and I can confirm this now having installed the S on my jeep), the S sounds more tuned and refined than the ATAK. Again, listen to the sound between shifts - that's what I'm talking about.

Also of note - the exhaust is louder in the cabin than this video lets on. It could be that they appear to be using half decent audio equipment for the external sound clips, and likely using something more basic for the cabin sound clips (I could be wrong here.) In order to really hear what it sounds like in the cabin, you would need a good external field recorder and microphone.

Thanks for posting the video!

I will change to an aftermarket exhaust at some point, but I need to be careful, European ears are a bit more sensitive than in the US when it comes to engine sound, and I know I will have to revert to the stock exhaust for MOT inspections (4 years after purchase for new vehicles, then every other year)...
So I guess the Borla "S" makes more sense. However, with the need to revert to the stock exhaust regularly, having a full system (Corsa comes to mind) might be easier.
How would you say the Borla S compares to the new Corsa, or to the "old" WK1 Corsa that I had?
