2015 Jeep SRT

So,......I went to the local Jeep dealership yesterday looking to trade in my 2005 Ram 1500 4X4 with Hemi in for a 2016 Cherokee High Altitude 4X4 with Hemi and a couple of options as it is fully loaded as is. I was ready to put down a deposit and sign the paperwork for the order, as it would have to be ordered. Long story short, the dealership didn't want to agree with my trade-in value, so needless to say, there was no deal. They were off by 1,500 bucks.
They did have a 2015 Jeep SRT sitting out front, of course, right?!? and it is such a beastly beautiful truck. It was the first time I had seen a WK2 up close and personal. The SRT Jeep is what I originally wanted anyways from the start, but I'm still paying off the '13 RS3, so I took a shot at the other Jeep. But, after leaving the dealership yesterday, all I can think about is the SRT. I guess everything happens for a reason. I really want the SRT, so I may order a 2016 early next year after I pay off the other machine.
Hopefully they can iron out the 8 speed transmission kinks by then.

Only the Pentastar V6/8 speed combo has kinks.

I walked into my dealership last Sunday to sign my order for a 2015 High Altitude, test drove the SRT, and 24 hours ago I pulled a beautiful white SRT into the garage.

Pulling up to an intersection right out of the dealership some girls on the corner stopped talking, took off their sunglasses and stared.

While filling up the tank on the way home, a guy with an SRT Challenger in the next bay came over and started drooling.

Last night around 1AM I was driving around(because SRT, that's why)getting a little closer to the 500 mile "launch activation" mark. I was pulled over playing with the controls when two cops turned on their lights and pulled up behind me. That came out with flashlights, said I hadn't done anything but they wanted to know if they could check out the Jeep because they had never seen a GC like this, LOL! One said "Man that's hot, I'm jealous".

This is a 100% accurate description of my first day with the SRT

Re: 2015 Jeep SRT

I will definitely say I get eyeballed WAY more in this vehicle than I have in previous vehicles, including a very nice RS5. Bright White w/ Red Vapor package is definitely a unique look and most people just stare like they can't figure out what it is. Looks like a GC, but not one most have seen.

I had to chase away all the hands-on people who were trying to fondle my SRT while I was inside doing the final paperwork!

This seems to be a very under-the-radar vehicle and really stands out.

Re: 2015 Jeep SRT

Its under the radar because its never advertised in media. Its all word of mouth or opportunistic sales.

Re: 2015 Jeep SRT

Thanks everyone for posting. I just paid off a good chunk of the remaining balance on my RS3. Hopefully in a couple of months, I will have it paid off. I got "the fire" to get a 2016 Jeep SRT. I've wanted one for a really long time, back in the WK1 models. lol After seeing one up close and personal, I gotta have it. Plus, all the "fun" that goes with it.

I thought there were 8 speed clunks on the 2014/2015 SRT model. Not on all, but on some? Does that only happen to the Penstar V6/8 speed transmissions? I could have sworn I've read threads/posts about a clunking on the 8 speed in the Jeep SRT's. If not, that's even better! I still want one regardless. I'm willing to "take a gamble" with it, even though I'm not a gambling/take chances kind of man.

Very true sir!
A lot of car/truck enthusiasts will know about it as well.

Re: 2015 Jeep SRT

^ Most of the "clunk" complaints were from people who have never had a high performance transmission before. They thought something was wrong when nothing was wrong.

I think there's a member on here that had his vehicle replaced because of the clunk?

Op, yes I forgot about the SRT tranny clunk. It doesn't seem to be that big of an issue though. I doubt you'd have a problem. My uncle and a coworker both have 2015 SRT GCs and so far no issues that I know of. But that's only 2 out of how many?..

Re: 2015 Jeep SRT

Well I had one that clunked badly and now one that doesn't at all...so which way is the correct way that it's supposed to behave? I prefer the non-clunker.

Re: 2015 Jeep SRT

The words high performance and clunk should never go together. Just my two cents
