There is no reason those features won't be added though... Do they actually work on your vehicle @zaim

Re: 2016 Jeep SRT new features....updated as we learn

2016 WK2 SRT Drive Modes (unrelated to "V")

All-new drive modes allow Grand Cherokee SRT owners the ability to personalize their drive experience whether it's on-road or on-track.

The drive modes separately control the all-wheel drive system, transmission, paddle shifters, stability control, suspension and steering. Drive modes are pre-configured for Auto, Sport, Track, Snow and Tow settings via a mode select switch on the center console, while the Custom setting lets the driver customize the drive experience to their favorite settings.

• Custom — Allows driver to personalize the vehicle’s performance
• Auto — Activates automatically when starting the vehicle
• Sport — Delivers increased vehicle performance capability over the Auto Mode
• Track — Delivers maximum vehicle performance capability on smooth, dry surfaces
• Snow – Delivers optimized snow and ice performance
• Tow – Delivers maximum towing performance
• Eco — Maximizes fuel economy with a revised shift schedule, pedal map and second-gear starts

The performance experience of the 2016 Grand Cherokee SRT is further accentuated by transfer case proportioning and dynamic controls for the Selec-Track system when the vehicle is in Track Mode. When this mode is selected, 70 percent of the engine’s torque is delivered to the rear wheels for a more pronounced rear-wheel-drive experience. Drivers will find the torque split change in Track mode provides a vehicle that is more responsive from mid-corner to exit and one that delivers faster lap times at their favorite track.

Seems like way bigger changes coming for this facelift/refresh than the last one, right?

Does anyone else feel a little alienated by this kind of stuff? EVERY YEAR there is a ton of new stuff only that newer year model vehicle can get. What happened to once every 4-5 years??

Re: 2016 Jeep SRT new features....updated as we learn

Car cycle is becoming more similar to software/electronics release cycle...which, although shitty for customers, kind of makes sense given the amount of software and electronics in vehicles now, coupled with people's expectations for new features more in line with how cell phones release...

Re: 2016 Jeep SRT new features....updated as we learn

Yeah and look at electronics now.. commoditized to all hell, and no brand loyalty. It's not even mature enough yet (as witness by the Jeep Hack) to get commoditized! IMHO, Jeep's customer loyalty is all it has going for it, especially considering the horrible QC going on lately with their/everyone's vehicles.. The good news is, I think it's only a matter of time before such costly problems arise with all of this innovation, that they are forced to slow new features down to focus back on QC.. As a product manager myself, I cannot stress how common and critical this fluctuation is.

Anyways, I'm not being a sourpuss, just calling it like I see it. I am quite happy with my Jeep and while I'll always want more, I do realize I don't always need more.
