Sometimes you want sport shifting without suspension so stiff it rattles your teeth out.
You can do sport shifting without the suspension change by pulling the shifter back. You can also do sport or track suspension with normal shifting ( not that it makes sense)

But yes... Configurable modes will be a nice addition. Saw it first on the challenger.

Re: 2016 Jeep SRT new features....updated as we learn

It's still not exactly the same, putting in "Sport" on the select-a-mode dial or whatever it's officially called fully disables the MDS, whereas just pulling back the shifter in Auto doesn't. So there are still subtle differences. The shifting in Track mode is also super aggressive, no way to get it that way without the super stiff track suspension...there seem to be a lot of different variances in the shifting behavior, but it's not totally customizable you have to take what you get from the dial settings. Sounds like they are trying to improve that in the 2016 model which is cool.

Yeah, that's right I was trying to figure out where I'd seen it, it was in the demo and review videos for the Hellcats...there's an SRT modes screen or something in the UConnect, pretty cool.

It does turn off MDS on the 15. Cruising along you can hear it switch on and off when you change the t-bar from D to S. I've never felt nor heard it when the shifter is in S, and I drive in Sports full time for that reason.

That's only because in Sport mode one tends to be "sporty" and not drive within parameters that cause MDS to activate. MDS cannot be deactivated with any setting or simply going into/staying in Sport Mode. MDS will always kick in when the conditions are met.

Well I've driven long highway drives in sport on the dial and the trans in D and I can say pretty confidently that it never engaged MDS even in 8th with light throttle just rolling along...So if it activates it's on different criteria than the other modes.

It's pretty sensitive to a constant throttle position (ie very little rpm variance) so try it with cruise set and also be sure no load is being experienced by engine/trans like non-level ground and ZERO headwind. Sidewinds even make mine kick out of MDS (fuel saver) mode.

Granted I am in a 5.7 but the rules are the same the only diff being that the 6.4 is a little more "high strung" in Sport Mode and that probably narrows the chances of encouraging MDS to activate.

Re: 2016 Jeep SRT new features....updated as we learn

Well like I said it's NEVER come on with the dial in sport under any conditions or in areas where the MDS kicks in frequently in other modes...So even if it technically can activate, functionally it might as well be off as far as I'm concerned.

Its on the wk2jeeps website. I was going to get the art brakes on mine, but i might just wait and see what these entail. Hopefully bigger rotors to fill the gap made by 22's!
