At least we can verify no eco mode in regular sport (not the dial sport). I don't think MDS kicks in in sport either though...

Certainly, SPort and ECO modes are 100% diametrically opposed. Sport mode widens the trans gear op range and ECO very specifically shifts up early to smooth things out to save gas.

As I said earlier Sport mode narrows the amount MDS will kick in mainly because driving habits in Sport mode are not conducive to MDS activation.

Drive 20-65 mph (max MDS range is 20-80/90 ish) on level road with no headwinds, cruise on and just plodding along, in Sport mode, and MDS will activate. Nothing truly disables MDS, it is not selectable/defeatable just avoidable based on driving habits.

I drive 100% in Sport mode and on the highway under the conditions above MDS kicks in BUT when winds pick up, grade slightly changes and yahoos alter my path it may/will deactivate until it likes conditions again.

If I leave the Selec-Track mode on Auto and have the shifter in S (which I drive in 99% of the time), MDS does not kick in. Doesn't happen in spirited driving, not around town, nor at highway speed or while cruising.

I tried it again 20 minutes ago and on cruise at 100kph in 8th, on a long flat strip of road, shifter in S, Selec-Track in Auto, MDS did not kick in (no sound, no vibration).
If I pull back on the shifter so D is engaged, Selec-Track in Auto, same strip of road, MDS will kick on within seconds (noticeable sound and vibration).

Can only think that maybe the Export models are different for some reason?

Or maybe the difference is with the SRT... @14SummitHemi do you have the 5.7L or 6.4L?

x2.mine does exactly this too.even if I try to get MDS to kick in while shifter in sport, it will not. Only auto mode will it engage. Wish that Eco button fully disengaged it.

@14SummitHemi..... go drive an SRT then come back and tell us what we SRT owners already know. MDS DISENGAGES when you either move the shifter back in to "sports shift" mode, where only the gear shifts are sporty, or if you turn the select track dial into sport, where shifts AND suspension change, and also in track mode, which you don't have in a Summit right?

Not a personal attack on you, but it annoys me when people who DONT have something, try and tell those that do how things work.

rant over lol

"Hey this isn't a personal attack" but here, let me attack you. Down boy!

JHC, got nothing to do with SRT/non-SRT except maybe your different gearing making your "conditions" for MDS a narrower range, WHICH I previously stated.

Many features cut across the trims and MDS is one of them. I never said anything about MDS activating when you GO INTO Sport Mode. I simply was stating that MDS will activate IN Sport mode in the "right conditions", which it will. Obviously a narrower range with your rpms/gearing. Your own manual states MDS is automatic based on conditions and not modes.

I believe if you re-read my contributions my version of " me" will prove to be much more accurate than your version.

Well then a feature that only activates in certain conditions, in a mode where those conditions are never met, ever...sounds like it's "off" to me.

What are we arguing about?

Exactly! This is the SRT forum. Any mention of MDS should be immediately deleted and the original poster blocked for one month - IMHO.

That said, after a year of driving my '14, my wife asked me what that ECO button was for and I let her push it...once...while driving across the country. Over here, we can set the cruise on the highways at 145kph (90mph) and the MDS was constantly engaging/disengaging at that speed. The sound was more annoying that the $$ saved in petrol.

If Akrapovic ever makes a system for our SRT, I'm thinking to repurpose that button to open the exhaust valves.
