2016 Loaded Night Edition for $55k..ouch!!

Used 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee For Sale | Columbus OH

Maybe it isn't that bad of a number if you were to have bought it new for $10k+ off msrp but taking a $25k hit from sticker with 14k miles on it seems brutal. I much prefer the look of the 2017 and will probably buy a Trackhawk against my better judgement after seeing how bad these do after initial purchase. KBB shows a trade value of $52,500 for the SRT Jeep listed in the link, my guess is that it would have been around $78k new since it has the Night Package, HK sound, pan roof, tow package and 3 season tires. Apparently it sold fast.. I called and it had sold this morning.

A quick search on cars.com shows 10 or so brand new, well-equipped 2016 Jeep SRTs available for $10K or more under sticker, not to mention others available for at least $5K under MSRP. Looks like a lot of dealers are stuck with SRTs they've had on their lots for quite a while.

It's not that bad. You will take a bigger depreciable loss on a mainstream German luxury car like an S class MB or 7 series BMW. As much of a niche as the SRT Grand Cherokee is, it still a desirable SUV platform as apposed to a sedan.

Above mentioned sedans have about the worst residuals of any vehicle on the road. Notorious for their rapid depreciation.

Was it clear whether or not the subject vehicle was a Canadian unit?

It was for sale in Ohio, but it's gone now so can't check the carfax.

I traded in my 2014 Lexus GS 350 (msrp 59,5xx) this last October with only 15k miles. The best I could do was $29,500 after dealing with 4 different dealers. Talk about that great Lexus resale value...

Re: 2016 Loaded Night Edition for $55k..ouch!!

The lots are flooded with this niche vehicle, not necessarily the Night, but SRT's in general. I paid just over 60k out the door for my 16' Night, which had 13 miles on the clock, collecting dust in the back of a showroom in KY since December of 15'. The sticker was 77k.

I think a lot of people really underestimate the true cost of ownership of these SRT vehicles, especially MPG, so most compulsive buyers are willing to get out of them by taking a huge hit.

If this one had 14k high miles, 55k seems about right.

Well, what is actually the real cost of ownership. I do not worry about mods, just regular stuff. Fuel, brakes, tires, oil. Is there anything else special on the SRT that has to be done. My 2014 Overland is fuel and oil so far. I was looking into the fuel math and if I drive 7k miles a year that's extra $400 for fuel for a year. Does not sounds that bad. Am I missing anything?

At 85,000 miles this is what I roughly spent not on mods but normal wear and tear.

$18,000 on gas, $8,000 on tires (5 sets) and $1600 in rotors (3 sets), $800 in brake pads (3 sets), $1200 in oil changes (12) in less than 5 years....

Well, it is all normal wear items and you have a lot of miles. I am doing 6K-7K miles per year on my overland, so my cost will be around 3 times less if I get SRT and drive the same way.
The only thing that will make difference compared to BMW and MB is that the maintenance is free during the warranty period. So for the same $ value vehicle the maintenance cost will be a lot less on the euro

Personal lease in Ohio for only 9 months. .I swear they had it sold to someone at the dealership before it was even listed.

I wouldn't doubt that, probably the manager or one of his buddies picked it up before it even hit the lot.
