2014-2016 blends so much better. Not digging the 17 after market look at all.

Re: 2016 SRT vs 2017 SRT -VOTE!-

I think the '17 went too far towards the look of a Dodge, which obviously was confirmed after the launch of the Durango SRT and its identical front fascia. Frankly, what I would like to see would be a freshened, more modern, interpretation of the WK1 front end, with new LED round headlights and larger 7 opening Jeep grill, to highlight the Jeep history and identity.

I do like elements of the '17 front, including the additional character lines and flat planes, but if you removed the Jeep badge, it could easily be mistaken for a Dodge Charger / Durango. It's not a cut on Dodge either - I'm a fan, but Jeep is and should be something different, even in SRT trim.

2016 SRT vs 2017 SRT -VOTE!-

When I first saw the 14's I thought it was absolutely bad ass and couldn't get over the sexiness. The 17 facelift didn't have the same effect on me. I wouldn't say the facelift looks ugly, to me it looks like it's now wearing a respirator (not necessarily a bad thing)

That aside, I wish they kept the mid bumper Drl's, it made the SRT immediately distinguishable from the rest of the GC line up.

Re: 2016 SRT vs 2017 SRT -VOTE!-

Wasn't feeling the 17's in the beginning, but went to the dealer and saw a all black one in person and fell in love. That price though, 70 grand and that was on sale. Asked the sales man to have a go and test drive, but he shut me down. He claimed they will have a hard time selling it if it has more than 20 miles on it. I think this guy was full of shit since it's on sale sitting out in the lot, not inside or locked away.

Not totally unusual. My dealer only allows serious buyer test drives for SRT vehicles and not at all for the hellcats.

When your spending $70k+, you don't want a vehicle several people beat on in a test drive. I ordered mine from the factory for just that reason.

Re: 2016 SRT vs 2017 SRT -VOTE!-

I had 2 different SRTs in my driveway for a week when we were looking for one...2 different dealerships threw us the keys like nothing. Had a bad storm come through with hail that thankfully missed us! That would have sucked

I'm not a fan of the 17s

Take it from an owner of 9 SRT vehicles - I wouldn't touch one that has been test driven.

I want something fresh off the truck with my name on the build sheet, or at least something that has been locked inside with NO test drives.

What's the FIRST thing EVERY moron does when testing out an SRT they have no intention to buy? HAMMER on the gas before the brand new motor has been broken in.

No thanks.

Also, here are some recent pics of my 2017; IMO, anyone that says THIS looks "fugly" is blind.

I've actually done a 180 and like the 17+ front end more.

Makes sense and I totally was going to push into it if he said yes. I just found it odd for them to enforce that policy on a vehicle they put outside to sun bake and is literally sitting next to the minivans and other common vehicles they sell. There was already a good layer of dust on the body and tires which tells me they had it sitting in their dirt overflow lot and plenty of hand prints from random people looking. If I was about to buy, it definitely wouldn't be that one, they would be ordering me a new one.

Re: 2016 SRT vs 2017 SRT -VOTE!-

I think the issue most have with getting a "from the factory new" Jeep SRT is the fact that the Jeep brand brings in a very wide range of potential buyers, including many who will simply want to take an SRT out to see just how fast it is, with zero ability to actually buy it.

Some dealers recognize this and limit or completely stop test drives of SRT models without first vetting the buyer, but as I experienced, some dealers go too far and that turns off people who actually are interested and capable of buying an SRT. This behavior then contrasts with what you experience at any of the European premium brand dealerships.

Although prices of many / most of the Euro brands easily top those of the SRT, these dealerships know that most people shopping at them are there because they can afford to buy these brands, so they're not getting some snot nosed brat who works at McDonalds test driving Cayenne Turbos.

It's a tough spot for Jeep to be in, as the SRT, and shoppers of it, should be treated differently and better (or rather the shopping experience should just be great for everyone), without negatively effecting the brand value or having dealers coming across as "you can look at it, but forget about touching or driving it without a signed contract.".

I think FCA could create a more buyer focused selling experience, that would automatically vet potential buyers, setting the SRT's apart and above those of the everyday models.
