Yep your correct there are 6 park sensors on the front bumper vs. 4, also some near the rear wheel too for the park assist, lane departure, active park ect.
My dealer got their '16 black night after I took delivery of my '17...kinda odd. It seems that a bunch of '16 nights were delayed in being shipped to the east coast..?
Yeah my dealerships night just got here on the 21st, vs. our 17 that got here on the 14th. All the nights were stuck in "shipped to body vendor" in Detroit for ever it seemed like.
I must say I do like the 16 better when comparing them side by side. I thought the 17 looked better at first and I just bought a 2016 (non night). I was really contemplating waiting for a 17 based on the grill but couldn't pass up the deal in front of me. Nice comparo shots.
Looks alright to me, its amazing how this vehicle has evolve with the new body frame which share the same frame with the Mercedes Benz from the black pointed antenna on the roof to the modern day shark fin antenna, to no led lights to led lights etc.
This is just a hypothesis, but I'm willing to bet that the front end change is in preparation for the increased air intake the Jeep will need for the 2018 Hellcat Engine Trackhawk. I'm willing to bet that most likely the fog lamp opening or the central lower grill will be made active for the upcoming model with it's increased air and cooling needs. Again this is a total guess but it would make sense.
I disagree. We are talking minor changes to an existing body style. I prefer the night to the 17 and have neither! I bought the 16 after seeing the 17. If I had the means I would likely get the track hawk in 18 and will be the first to say I prefer that package including the front end (which is geared to cooling the track hawk) over my 16. Both front ends have their merits and benefits but really prefer the front end of the 16 as its more cohesive with a more prominent grille. No one goes wrong or loses out on either option imo.
