I've recently placed an order with Strasse wheels for a set of 1-pc forged monoblock wheels. 22 x 10.5. They called me last night and said that the monoblock 10.5 will not clear the caliper. The only way to clear it is with an 11" rim. The only way to run an 11" rim with a monoblock and guaranteed no rub is to run a 285/40 which I refused to do. They look way too skinny for my taste. So too my knowledge no one has run an 11" monoblock wheel on 305s for our rigs. If I do run an 11" it will be an "extreme fitment".
I know a 3-piece 11 will clear it no problem because they can toy with the dimensions a lot easier.
At this point I refuse to go back to a 3-piece. As light as my Iforged were, they still slowed the Jeep down. I was in denial at first but after going back to the stocks I can testify that they definitely slowed it.
I have an Eibach drop (.8/1.1) with no plans to go lower and I'm running a fair amount of negative camber. (-2.0 front and -1.4/1.8 rear)
On a wheel that wide and a sidewall that short and stiff there is no way a 285 would fit on an 11" rim. I was once a manager of wheel centre for 5yrs and I would be very careful of buying from anyone that tries to persuade you that way. As for the three piece making the srt slower ,I think you must be dreaming or the actual tyre was cheap and nasty as on a vehicle of this size and weight and with the torque these things produce you could drop 200kg and barely notice any difference, especially considering the run flats are super heavy already.
^ These wheels aren't built yet so I'm considering my options
For your edification:
1. I would never run a 285 on an 11" rim, or a 10.5, or a 10. But that's me
2. There is a fad called "stretch and poke" that is very dangerous and very common. People will stretch a 265 on a 12" rim. So yes it is done. Mainstream tire shops won't do it but specialty shops will
3. heavier wheels will in fact slow our rigs down. It doesn't matter if you have 1000ft lbs of torque. It's physics. Rotating mass is exponentially more detrimental to performance per lb than overall weight. 10lb of extra rotating mass per corner (40lbs total) will affect your performance a lot more than a 300lb passenger will. I had stock wheels, then I had light weight 3 piece, then I went back to stock. I can say with absolute certainty that 3 piece slowed me down.
3.a. Furthermore, the further the added weight is from the center, the bigger the impact. All of a 3-piece's extra weight is the farthest out from the center. You have a bunch of bolts holding the wheels together. The monoblocks I'm looking at are 5lbs lighter per corner over a comparable 3-piece, and the reduction is at the most significant point
A 305/35 PIrelli is what I ran before and what I will run again. Believe it or not it is slightly heavier than the 295 OEM runflat
At this point I'm probably going to cancel my order until I can find a company whose monoblock profile can clear our calipers with a 10.5" rim. I'm really starting to get frustrated with the Jeep and SRT in general. Mopars have always been notoriously difficult and expensive to get parts for period. But this WK2 SRT takes the cake. Short of a SC system "performance" mods do nothing. Even when I go full custom I still have limited options to what wheels I can get. It's annoying not being able to do anything to these.
With what you are saying I'm assuming your going to be racing this thing then? Otherwise I think your being a little pedantic about the whole thing. This is NOT a lotus Elise were talking about here it's a 2200kg behemoth. Just wondering where your getting your info on your tyre weight too cos I have the same 305 pirellis on my car and when I had both tyres off (and brand new) they not only felt heavier but the run flats felt almost twice as much so. My suggestion is to find the wheel you like and compensate for the added weight by adding more power either through exhaust , forced induction ect.
Just my 2c that's all.

I almost ordred a set of 22 monoblock wheels from them 6 months ago. They swore up and down that I would be able to run 305's no problem. I searched and searched and had trouble finding wheels. Try brixton forged. Chad from blackops said he can have a set made.
A-Kon, I hate to keep kicking the horse but I think you need to go with "Nichie Wheels" it's a proven company an since you have your family in the car you can't cheapen and have what almost to you again! My 2cents.
If u want a custom made monoblock in any design
...TALK to blackops.....He's done them before! Only thing you won't have is the BIG NAMe on the centercap....and half the price!
Chad (Black Ops Autoworks) has been advising me. He is the one who mentioned Strasse as a possibility. He's also offered to custom cut me wheels. His reputation precedes him and I have no doubt he will deliver HRE quality for a fraction of the price.
The only issue is I am a very hard headed person and I'm still stuck on a big name wheel brand. I've tried to justify it but in the end there is no rational explanation. Niche were the original wheels I wanted. This goes back to before I even purchased my Jeep. There was a black SRT on ebay with a set of 21s. They fit perfect. When it came down to it I took a deal on IForged and as we all now know it didn't exactly work out. I was prepared to order a set of Niche but then I heard about their overly aggressive offset/fitment. I ran a +38 on the rear with my IForged and didn't like how they sort of stuck out. When I looked up Niche monoblocks for our bolt pattern the available offsets listed for us were +15 and +35. It's risky with custom wheels and what looks great to one person is a nightmare for another.
I still may order wheels from Chad although I'm not sure if he still wants my order given my luck lol. For now I'm going to pursue the Niche and see what offsets they can do on a monoblock. i know Chad has Niche so I'd prefer to do business with him.
I completely understand your dilemma but I feel your make the right choise!! There are quite a few different offsets you can choose from an then they can get pretty pricie!
Just got off the phone with Niche (pronounced Nitch! (Chad)). They said they recommend a +38 offset for their monoblocks. I ran a +38 on my IForged and my rears poked out if you looked at certain angles.
Well Mr. Chad, I'll have you know the full-time servants returned to Mexico for a holiday, thus the leaf buildup. That's my dad's place anyways.
Now you're really going to give me a hard time. I cancelled my order with Strasse due to fitment issues. I'm ordering the same Niche's that Steve had. I love them. Even with the aggressive offest. I'm going to run some -8.4 camber so they should tuck nicely.
I will say that the Strasse guys were easy to deal with and good communicators. It just wasn't meant to be
I really like that look it gives it an aggressive stance!! And when lowered properly with everything dialed in right it will handle much better... In my opinion.
Wow 8.4 degrees neg camber. Hold on tight dude that things gunna be all over the road. I didn't see a problem with your pics man just looks like every other srt I've ever seen. I'll take a couple of pics of mine when I get home and compare.
^ Yes. I private messaged him with a few more questions but haven't heard back from him. He told me he loved the wheels and is now using Niche again for his Camaro ZL1 build. It all comes down to personal preference. Some want the wheels to tuck, some want them flush.
Currently I'm waiting on my refund from IForged, deposit refund from Strasse, and am in the process of ordering the Niche. I'm just trying to decide on finish. I inquired about Black Chrome but Niche doesn't offer it and I don't want to spend an extra $1000+ to have them shipped to Cali and back. I like the finish, but not that much. I do not want black wheels. I'm looking for an exotic looking dark finish similar to a black chrome...more of a deep gunmetal
I know I said I'd never do this, but I'm considering doing the road magnet mids after the wheels come in. Only problem is Chad said they may not work with the Niche due to aggressive offset. I remember a guy here running a +35 offset with the Extremes so it should be possible. I can give a million reasons why I think the Eibachs are a smarter choice, but with aftermarket wheels the gap in the rear needs to be closed. The wheel well comes out so the lower I go and the more the wheels moves up, the more flush it will be. a +38 offset should be perfect with the RM mids
mine rubbed all around with RM mids and 22x10.5 et35. The front went away after the tires wore through the inner fender liners in one spot. The rears would rub on like the outer body molding I believe. The rear was the more concerning but it wasn't all the time like turning quick or turning from a stop while getting on it.
Steve told me they would rub on mine with the mid level drop which is why I went away from buying them. They are my favorite wheels by a long shot but I didn't want to deal with rubbing again. He told me his were +35 though and you are saying +38 so maybe it's enough to not run with the mid level drop.
the 1/1.8 drop and yes 305/35's all around. these pictures are ok? sorta? I no longer have the jeep. 3mm might be all the difference in the world though.
I'm completely stumped on what to do. Now I'm hesitating ordering the Niche. There is so much conflicting information. These Jeeps are a real pain in the ass.
i agree wheel fitments are awful. you want the flushest possible fitment but no rubbing or poking out. if you go with an 11" wide wheel even with the 38 offset, that wheel is 1/2" wider than my 10.5s if the width is 1/4 inch on the front and a 1/4 on the back you're still looking at it sticking out another 3mm more than my 10.5 with et35. But 3mm is really nothing. might rub on one jeep and not on another.
If you read through I've already cancelled my order for the 11" wheels. Now I'm looking at Niche but they need a +38 offset on a 10.5 wheel. Tom said that Steve (only guy with Niche monoblocks on SRT) was running a +35. If all the facts here are correct then I'm hoping that 3mm difference is just enough.
I'm currently on Eibach so if I don't lower it anymore I can deal with the slightly aggressive offset. The problem is if I go with Road Magnet mids. The issue with the RM is that 1.0/1.8 gets rid of all the rake which I don't want, and 1.8/1.8 is waaaay too low in the front. The .8 with Eibach is perfect.
All I want is a damn .8/1.5 drop that's true. I don't feel like I got the full drop out of my Eibach and it seems to go up and down without explanation.
