Re: 3m protection for the front

Nice. For the bonnet/hood, I'd be worried about the heat and it's effects on the film. Lower are shouldn't be a problem though.

Re: 3m protection for the front

The 3M is the best you can get.
I will be looking to get this for my SRT.
This, Debadging and remote start are my first mods

Someone else may want to weigh in on this but I think that Xpel is definitely worth looking into.

My installer raved about the self healing Xpel film and said the 3M stuff hasn't been changed in over 10 years. Xpel is also slightly thicker then the 3M but when cured is virtually invisible.

Agree. I would take a serious look at the xpel.

Re: 3m protection for the front

Anyone know if the prices on the xpel website are accurate? Would a dealer sell it cheaper? I thought I heard some guys quoting less money. Also, it doesn't say if its ultimate or one of their other grades

I have XPEL Ultimate, full hood and front bumper. I would like to do the quarter panels too, but it gets EXPENSIVE!

I paid $600 OTD for full hood/bumper/grill.

I went through Xpels website to find a certified installer. I went through email, so I can have it all in writing and keep things more accurate. I contacted several local installers.

One of the things I like about Xpel Ultimate is the seal healing.

In my case, it was much cheaper having the installer do it, instead of buying a big ass roll of sheet from XPEL to attempt.

Re: 3m protection for the front

My install price was lower than what is on the site.... By a pretty good amount.

Re: 3m protection for the front

I've been looking at this for offroading, to prevent bush pin stripes. But not sure how effective it will be, perhaps I'm better off with regular cut/polish. The other option I've read about is clear plastidip before a trip, then pressure hose it off afterwards. A lot cheaper, but may look a bit average while its on.
