All in the name of making the crybabies happy. I'm sorry but compared to the WK1 SRT, the WK2 SRT is a shameful POS. I said it once and I'll say it again, if I could pick between a used WK SRT and a brand new WK2 SRT, I would go with the used one in a hard beat.

Times in speed may not have changed but I'll be shocked if the same could be said in handling.
Instead of running down my future vehicle, why don't you go over to the WK SRT8 forum. thanks

I don't think I'm ever gonna get rid of the one in my garage because the WK1 SRT8 is gonna be a legend. Every day I take it out there's always somebody that comes up to me and says "that thing is one bad ass Jeep" and it makes me feel good that I spent 40 large on the damn thing. I can't wait to roll on a new WK2 SRT and race the hell out of it. It brings some competition between our own kind and thats cool. I'm sure that it'll be a nice rig, but I'm leaning towards a Chally or Viper for the next rig in the stable. At the end of the day I'm a Chrysler man and that's how I've always been, thanks to my pops who just happens to have worked for the f#$kers my whole life. Haha! Maybe after the third year revision they'll change the look a bit because of all of us who want it to be more aggressive Anyways, I'm f-ing hung over! Peace out!
Chuck, well said. The only part I'd say I disagree with was that it was a passionate discussion, not argument! We all care alot about our Rigs. I still love my Jeep, but I also like to stick up for OUR new younger brother.

I still think its funny that you are complaining about the performance of truck. If its only performance that you want just get a turbo AWD Jap car and call it a day. Then get a nice overland as a big boy toy for driving to work.

But you still are going to get a lot of this, "Awwww man this Jeep sucks! It doesn't have 500hp+, were going to get killed by the X6Ms and Cayenne Turbos we race now "

Well who cares, you saved $50k and got an interior of the same quality, exterior looks of the same quality and almost equal performance if not better in some areas (braking/handling etc). So logic says the Jeep is a wayyyy better value $ for $ right? Right!

Those who feel the need to get off on beating everything they roll up next to and cant except the fact that maybe just maybe there is a faster car out there, well you can go to the mod shop and buy yourself some goodies with the extra $50k you have laying around from not buying an overpriced performance SUV!

Fact is the Jeep is powerful by any standard, including the WK SRT8. Add all the new goodies inside and out, and you have a huge improvement, aka progress aka what we all strive for. IMO all the hate is purely out of spite and nothing more. There simply isn't anything you could logically dislike about it besides maybe some exterior touches being as that stuff varies person to person. You cant hate 465 ft lbs of torque and hp and the inside is amazing on any level.

All in all for the same damn price as the old gen, this thing is heads and tails better! Thanks SRT team/engineers for taking a crazy platform and making it even crazier while keeping the price in the same ballpark!

Stage 6 is who's doing my build hopefully starting next month after Keoni's rig is done. It'll depend on a few other cars that might or might not be in line though. I dropped off all the items for the kit today at their shop

Re: 5150 Curb Weight....Ugh!!!

Well, all I have to say is..... I'm gonna be buried in my Jeep. I can see owning the new SRT WK2 as a DD only. It would be a while I believe before it could be made quick so no real sense in pouring money into it. Diablo doesn't have any tuning available YET for the 6.4L and won't be until the end of the year possibly is what I heard once. I'm sure the new SRT will be nice no doubt about it. Some folks buy cars for different strokes.

When it all comes down to it, everyone is comparing a 2005 WK to a brand spanking new 2012. There's a 7 year difference between the true model change. Jeep better get more refined in 7 years!

By the way.... can ANYONE name an SRT vehicle that was slower than the previous version? I can't. Sure would be kinda disappointing for the Jeep to be the first. Hope it ain't so.
