For ever my dealer has been over filling my SRT oil ever since i've gotten it.

Turns out the Dipstick has been the entire problem.

The dip stick writing is too low on the stick at 7 Qt's it will read a Full quart or more over the full line.

I told the dealer about it and all they offered to do for me was give me a 10% discount on the new Dipstick and had to be ordered.

I know the TSB mentions 2015 SRT's

But I have the SAME Part # on my 2012 SRT 05038472AA Is the Wrong Dipstick.

The Proper part number is 05038472AB

Just a PSA Check your Dipstick after an Oil change I bet it shows Over Full after 7 Quarts!

That is so pathetic I had the same issue with my 5.7. The fact that they want us to pay for their mistake makes it even worse. I've spent extra money on oil just to over fill my engine. Clearly they were just hiding the problem I brought up the issue to my dealer after every oil change and they acted like I had 2 heads. Never again!

Thanks for posting this, I had no issues with the dealer ordering and installing a new dipstick after I showed them the TSB. No I didn't take it in just to get the dipstick installed, they were also doing a flash and replacing the driver seat lumbar switch. ;)

Sorry to revive an old thread, Did anyone ever get a side by side pic? I ask because I have a dipstick from my 2012 we traded in (really NO IDEA how or why I ended up with a left over dipstick, weird...)

I thought since this TSB only applied to 2015 models that I might could use the one from the 2012.

The one from the 2012 has the exact same part number (AA) as the one in the 2015. Again, wasn't too surprised, thought if the laser etching was messed up during 2015 production that they likely changed the part number to AB to make it easier to identify but that I would probably be ok with an AA from before this snafu...

BUT turns out that both the one from my 2012 and the one from the 2015 are identical, all etching in the exact same spot.

SO either A. My 2015 "AA" stick is from before the laser etching mistake started, OR, they actually made a change in the dipstick channel into the engine.

I already have 2 dipsticks, I hate to buy another one and it come in exactly like the two I already have so really hoping someone can either grab a picture of the two side by side OR measure from tip to top of full on the AB stick please?

Awesome, thanks!!!!

Yep, Looks like I need the AB... My AA has the markings in the same place. There goes my theory that only SOME of the AA versions were mis-marked.

Still very strange that this bulletin only applies to the 2015 even though I have an AA from a 2012 model and the markings are in the same place. AND the AB is listed as correct for all WK2 SRTs...

If the AB is correct for all models then why not a bulletin for 12 - 14s? Oh well, with the overlap between the two safe areas, I have been fine anyway. I'll still go ahead and grab the new one just in case.

Thanks again!
