I think these numbers are definately skewed. To give you an idea...my truck with Ripp supercharger setup does 3.4 0-60mph all day long. On an AWD dyno my truck put down 567.7 AWD hp and 542 ft/lb torque. The 572 ft/lb torque they are claiming is probably pretty accurate...however the 718hp is a gimmick to get you all flustered and want to by their kit...only way that makes sense is that it's flywheel hp not at the wheels. Using my 567.7 dyno hp number...technically I can add in to use a number lets say 25% hp loss from the flywheel to the wheels and claim my truck is 709hp. Any by the way..I just sold my truck and removed the supercharger setup and it's for sale :). Do you wanna spend $26k on their kit when you can have my Ripp vortech setup with only 3k miles on it for $5500. To me that would be a no brainer.

They are probably quoting CRANK HP - which in our opinion screws everyone up.

That's why we always lay it down on the dyno so people understand the difference. HP vs AWD-HP is a huge thing. Some shops only show RWD-HP which isn't fair either becasue we are driving all four wheels when launching. So might as well show it at all four wheels.

Thoughts?

I realize it's a different setup but it's still forced induction. Screw type blower is supposed to give your grunt type power then centrifical blower so 0-60 can't be accurate. There are plenty of guys running whipple setups now and 3.9 0-60 and 718hp don't add up. It's a sales gimmick gaurunteed.

If its not at ALL FOUR WHEELS then the crank figure can be anything you want..... how can you measure the crank figure without removing the engine and bench testing it?

@ RIPP weren't you also doing RWD dyno figures? I'm sure the first lot of vids I saw were RWD only as per below. And just how did you disengage the front wheels?
We did simple math with ours - coming us with a 27% drive train loss off the Jeep advertised crank HP. We feel it keeps things honest showing it like we do, that way the clients expectations are set. The problem is clients think their car has 4XX HP at the wheels stock. Then they see our number and think, thats it... But if you do the simple math we're at 750HP crank -/+. But like you said, an engine dyno would clear the guess work.

The very early ones we were and then we were able to successfully test at all 4 wheels. The early Diablo trinity would put it in RWD shutting the traction off, then when we switched to the inTune it would not. Then it was just a matter of getting the loads right on our dyno and we never looked back. We agree, it's much more fun to see it at all 4 wheels for us and our clients.
