9500ci Installed

I finally got around to installing my 9500ci over thanksgiving weekend. I wanted to go more agressive with the location of the display and control unit. I had originally planned on flush mounting them above and below the HVAC control, but the control hangs over the "blank" spaces in the bezel more than I anticipated. Unfortunately the grill slats are not wide enough to fit the laser shifters so some time with the dremel tool was required. I mounted the radar receiver on the driver side of the ACC "eye". I added the LED above the EVIC which turns from green to red when there is a viable threat. The gps receiver is on the dash next to the middle speaker. One issue is that the rear shifter makes a weird shadow on the license plate, so I need to adjust that (I may try adding a small LED bar under the shifter). I plan on running this along side my V1 for a while until I am happy with its performance. One good thing is that I do not get false signals from either the ACC or blind spot monitoring.
Pictures below (cell phone camera) also realized no GPS pictures. Not a professional install, but I'm pretty happy with it.

Controller

Front Shifters

Radar Receiver (not a good picture)

Awesome man, wish I could have gone that route, went with a 9500ix instead

Re: 9500ci Installed

looks good, I'm planning on going with a similar setup, i was hoping the shifters would fit in the grill... Did you have to cut out a slot in the chrome trim around the grill to get it to fit?

Sorry, but I would have looked for a different option. You just hacked your grill man.

Re: 9500ci Installed

Like everything but the fact you cut the grill for the shifters, they stick out and ruin the front of the Jeep.

Re: 9500ci Installed

what about the brake duct openings on the side for each of the shifters?

Re: 9500ci Installed

Ya, had to cut the grill, had to cut the chrome inserts. Was also hoping that the shifters would have fit. The closer the shifters are to the headlights the better they work, putting them lower in the brake ducts would have really made them less effective. It doesn't really effect the look unless you get close and most people don't even realize they are there. I am planning on vinyl wrapping the chrome inserts with black matte as well so it won't really be shown. Would have been nice to hide them, but I would rather loose the aesthetics for function, It is hard to keep this jeep below 100. I will try and take pictures in the light from further away. But to each their own.

Re: 9500ci Installed

Nice work. Wish I had gone this route, would have saved a few tix already in the base 5.7. As you note, I could not imagine keeping an SRT8 below triple digits. +1 on dechroming the grill rings, bet you will have function and form. Enjoy.

Great install! Can you install the shifters behind glass? Seems like above the visors, but below the headliner would be an ideal spot. Height has to be a benefit, right?

Re: 9500ci Installed

I think for laser shifters, you want them as close to the "target" points on the truck. This would be the front license plate and front bumper area. Don't have any proof, but I also think you have 18" up or down from the plate where you can effectively detect and "alter" a laser signal.
