Not for the fun of it. However when Jeep sees how many order cancellations there are they might do something about it. I cant afford anything over 55k out the door. Thats not that large of a price reduction so yes I am going to keep my fingers crossed for a change.

I am with cyanideg on this one....Pricing has been loaded into Dealer Connect and the base MSRP has been widely communicated, there is no chance the pricing will change for MY2012. Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but after reading a few posts from people who have indicated that they cancelled their order, it appears that the dealers are basically in a position where they end up with the vehicle either way. In some cases they have found buyers quickly to take the orders already in the system, in other cases it sounds like they are still looking to find people (which has resulted in a few being more willing to go lower than MSRP) to take on the existing orders. I discussed the base price with the dealer I ordered from and asked him what would happen if I didn't want to take the vehicle due to where pricing came in at (I ordered in early June), he indicated that he would still take the vehicle. Either way I don't think Jeep is seeing a rapid decline in the demand for the SRT-8. Again..this is all my theory based on taking an active interest in reading the various forums that include feedback from people who have ordered the SRT-8.

I think most of the early adopters who have kept their orders usually have disposable income which allow them the flexibility on price and had already considered the possibility of owning the higher priced competition. On the flip side, those previous SRT8 owners who placed their orders are too shell shocked to absorb that price jump and most likely never even considered an X5M or cayenne.
However when the dealers start selling at invoice and the $6k rebates start kicking in, there will be happy SRT8 owners again.
