Adaptive Cruise warning

When I purchased Dec 2013 my srt would come to a complete stop if needed while using adaptive cruise.

Several software updates later I nearly hit a car that stopped in front of me
while using the adaptive cruise. When I the jeep had auto braked to just under 5mph it chimed, released the brake and popped up a message stating adaptive cruise canceled speed to low...I've only seen it the one time and don't remember the exact wording but basically said Im not stopping.

I hit the brake in the last moment with four others in the car.

Embarrassed.

Anyone else experienced this change?
Reviews on edmonds states it will come to a complete stop.
My past experience is it will come to a complete stop.
No more.

Is it the software updates i've done making the change or
is it that I choose not to buy the monthly online service that has expired
a month early?

If you have a SRT model you never had ACC with stop and Go. It has yet to be confirmed that the 2015 SRT models have stop and go.

Normal operation on 2012-2014 SRT models are ACC that will disengage around 18-20mph

When it did come to a complete stop I have a feeling that was the FCW kicking in to save you.

Re: Adaptive Cruise warning

I too have been awaiting confirmation that the 2015 SRT's have the full stop and go functionality...because EVERY 2015 SRT window sticker claims that it does. But I haven't heard any first hand accounts yet, and haven't test driven one myself on the highway in heavy traffic.

Re: Adaptive Cruise warning

This shows it has it. Edmonds review shows it has it. Truck trends shows it does not.

If FCW kicks in. It notifies you.

I have shown the feature to several people in the past many times. I worked fine in stop and go in the past.

I've always kept my foot near the brake not trusting the system but the system always worked great until this last time a couple of days ago. Probably the 1st time I have tried it since the aug release.

Re: Adaptive Cruise warning

Problem is if you read all the threads...the 2014 SRT was confirmed to NOT have the stop functionality, which was apparently due to an issue with the Brembo brakes. Even though the other trim lines did have it. I am trying to confirm whether this was resolved for 2015 with the SRT, as I find it hard to believe they would put it on the window stickers otherwise.

Re: Adaptive Cruise warning

Problem is I read all the threads, I just don't remember them.

What i do remember is using the feature showing it off to my four sons many times.

Now the feature is gone.

From the manual page 203

ACC Operation at Stop
If the ACC system brings your vehicle to a standstill while following a target vehicle, if the target vehicle starts moving within 2 seconds of your vehicle coming to a standstill, your vehicle will resume motion without the need for any driver action.
If the target vehicle does not start moving within 2 seconds of your vehicle coming to a standstill, the ACC with Stop system will cancel and the brakes will ramp- out. Driver intervention will be required at this moment.
While ACC with Stop is holding your vehicle at a standstill, if the driver seatbelt is unbuckled or the driver door is opened, the ACC with Stop system will cancel

Yet from the manual page 191 it clearly states it won't

Can only apply a maximum of 40% of the vehi- cle’s braking capability, and will not bring the vehicle to a complete stop.

So, it is not confirmed in writing.

I only know it was a feature I used and now I cannot.

Re: Adaptive Cruise warning

Correction, I read all the srt threads.

I just read your post in the non srt section about this issue.

Looks like I'm not the only one who has seen the feature change.
One other claimed to stop before yet when he took it out for a test it did not and displayed the cancel message at low speed.

Re: Adaptive Cruise warning

Is there still no one with a 2015 model SRT that can confirm whether the full stop and go feature of the ACC is active on the 2015 model?

It's strange that it was present and then apparently removed (safety concerns maybe?) on your 2014 model.

It works fine (complete stop) in my 2014 Summit (August 2013 build)

Yeah it's well established that this is the correct behavior in the non-SRT models, but the 2014 SRT supposedly didn't have the full stop. I've been trying to figure out if the 2015 SRT does.

Strangely, simplewon says his 2014 SRT DID have the stop function and then it went away...so no idea what could have happened there.

Re: Adaptive Cruise warning

I was under the same impression that the vehicle would come to a complete stop before I purchased mine in Feb. I can't find the threads for the life of me anymore but everything from this forum had suggested it would. It has never worked for me from day 1. Mine cancels after 30km/h and then I have to slam on the brakes.
